Wenger Dismisses Arshavin Criticism

Arsene Wenger has insisted that Andrey Arshavin still has a big role to play at the club and he has no regrets about signing him.

Speaking to arsenal.com Wenger said of the criticism leveled recently at the Russian.

'You would not be surprised that I disagree with that. That is an opinion. I think he has been great for us and he will still be great in the coming months. He stands up for his performances. I personally respect him highly and I think he's a great player. I like Andrey because he has a great attitude.'

Wenger adds that whenever Arshavin does dip in form, he does his best and tries his hardest to work through it on the training pitch, and that it's that kind of determination that will see him come good for us again soon.
