Song Admits Pride At Being Named Captain

Alex Song has said he was honoured and proud to lead Arsenal out against Stoke.

Speaking to arsenal.com he said.

'I am very proud. If somebody had said to me six or seven years ago that I would be captain for Arsenal I would never believe them. I am very happy because I can show to the boss that I am one of the leaders in the team.'

As for the Stoke game itself, Song was pleased because it was another game that we improved in, and it pleased him to see us moving in the right direction.

'Overall the whole team did well today. That is very good because it means we are improving game by game. We have to continue that because the Chelsea game is very important to us.'
