Team News: Chelsea vs Arsenal

Today is going to go a long way in showing just how far we`ve come in our recovery after an horrendous 8 months in the club`s recent history.

What we need to remember however, is that getting something from the game isn`t the sole indicator of our progression, going to Stamford Bridge and getting a point or three is tough for even the best teams in the league, but if we can put in a good performance and compete in this match, even if we lose, will tell us a lot.

Tomas Vermaelen makes the bench after a long lay off, and long time Arsenal tormentor, Didier Drogba is suspended after his atrocious two footed tackle in the QPR match last week.

Here`s the complete line up.

Wow its quieter then the Emirates on here!?
Slurms McKenzie
Bit of a shocking analogy there Slurms, seeing as Stamford Bridge has been almost silent in that first half - everytime there's an audible chant from the TV it's from the away end.

Breaking news: Arsenal are awful defensively lol. Liverpool get Enrique for 6mil, we get a winger masquerading as a LB for the same price. At this point, all you can do is laugh.
gunnerkid107
Hey Gunnerkid107, wingers as left backs has worked for Spurs so its only natural that smaller clubs copy the bigger clubs:-( Wenger out!
Slurms McKenzie
Awful defence on both ends to be fair. Went to shower at half time and I'm surprised to see the scoreline right now! :D
GoonerLou
That's a foul wasn't it?!?!?!?!?
GoonerLou
Oh dear oh dear, just keep the ball, keep calm now!!
GoonerLou
OH MY GOD!!!! ROBINNNNN!!!!
GoonerLou

We could have had the game in the bag in the first 5 minutes, but anyway, thats football. Congrats to you guys.
ZeeNut
Easy for those w@nnky commentators to slate santos and Djourou...suspiciously quiet on captain Goering weren't they?
nikolaijns
Sign him up, sign him up, sign up PLEASE!

Well done to Arsenal. Something has gone quite wrong with our defense and you managed to exploit the many gifts we handed to you.
RadioactiveD
Swings and roundabouts, mate. As we have been lectured time and time again these past 6 years- it's the final score that matters. You gifted nothing. We TOOK it.
julieloveshenry4ever
His daddy is a dealer, his mummy is a tealeaf, his defence is rather leaky, the Terry family der der der der click click
nikolaijns
Must ring SKY. Think I've broken the pause and rewind functions, watching John Terry fall flat on his face time and time and time and time again :D
julieloveshenry4ever
Fantastic win for the Arsenal! It was too open a game for anyone but the Neutral's liking. Apart from fabulous RvP, a big mention to Ramsey who was a revelation, Theo for having a big impact and Koscielny to again prove that he is one of the finest central defenders in the league.

Todays one of those what the ***** just happened there kind of days
Sajit
Lol, Sajit. You jinx, you....
Naijagunner
great game but our defense still gave me heart attack!

Santos struggled a bit in the latter part of the first half but I wouldn't take Enrique over him based on what we've seen so far.
Amos.
Just watched the match with a Cardiff Fan and a Yid, I took my fair share of stick but we all agreed that: Ramsey was fantastic, RvP is one of the best in the World, Walcott is great on his day, Gervinho has a massive head, Terry's a **** and Arsenal are back.
No 10
Oh, and it was a foul on Santos before Matas goal and Walcott drew about four good free kicks that were not given.
No 10
Great Win! Thanks RvP for making my weekend Start with a Big Smile on my Face!
hackneyval
Great resolve shown by the team in the second half. We were positive, cohesive and relentless. Thanks Bruce for the extra motivation we needed before the game, now you can buck yourself.
Deltaforce
A win is a win but we need to tie up the defence even more. Good job that today chelsea defence is leakier than ours
HK_Gunner
In this world you create your own luck. Like they say "who dares wins". Well done lads.
phreddy
This team isnt back yet, by any stretch, but getting wins under the belt. The recovery is still underway and the good thing is the continuity/consistency of results. Lets not get carried away - there are still huge areas of improvement, in defence, in attack (what happens when RvP needs a rest?). Great result, thoroughly enjoyed the game :)
