Coquelin Ready For First Team Battle

Francis Coquelin has said he is ready to battle for a place in the first team now after rising through our ranks and tasting first team action.

Speaking to arsenal.com the midfielder said he is targeting more games in the first team now after starting five since his loan at Lorient.

'I got back from Lorient where I was playing a lot so I think it's crucial that I can settle in the dressing room now. I will try to fight for a first team place, I have to keep focused, keep training hard and give 100% every chance I get.'

Looks a great player, the sole highlight from OT and our best player at tight fart lane. His year out on loan is what edges him ahead of frimpong in the squad, he just looks at present more calm, collected, cultured. Despite all this I think Frimps is the guy that will be the gooner legend, he loves the club and him Rambo and Jack will be our classic midfield trio for years to come. I think unfortunately due to impatience and impetuousness Coq will be a more fleeting Flaminiesque presence in our history.

Let's not forget Szcz was just as impatient and he came up with similar quotes in the press about leaving but in the end he did get his opportunities and made the most of them. Same with Coquelin. When Song is out for the ACN, he might just get his chance in midfield and make the most of it.

Song is not out for ACN, Frimpong will be. Great chance for Coquelin either ways.
