Wilshere To Madrid? Steaming Pile Of Galácticos!

I got up nice and early this morning, ready and raring for action, as is the norm after making a nice cuppa` I`ll sit and browse the best that the Newsnow Arsenal section has on offer, which in fairness, usually isn`t much.

Today, the article that immediately caught my eye was "Arsenal face battle for Wilshere". "Sh*t" I thought, "Injury set back". However the content seemed to suggest that we would face an uphill battle as we brace ourselves for a Real Madrid raiding party to swoop in and whisk one of our prize assets away as the Galacticos attempt to revive their waning reputation.

Then more and more articles waded in with the suggestion we might lose the young Englishman.

I`d suggest that everyone saves their time and effort to worry about something that might actually stand a chance of coming to pass, because this one is about as likely as John Terry attending a seminar on the life and works of Malcolm X.

The Cesc Fabregas saga, though it ultimately ended in defeat, should be enough to show that our club is willing to fight to the bitter end to keep hold of our best players. Sure we lost Cesc in the end, but that was after one of the most drawn out and sordid transfers you`re ever likely to see.

Coupled with the fact that Fabregas was being pursued by the club of his dreams, the team he supports, and the side he once played for in his home country, it made it difficult to resist for the Spaniard.

However it`s the complete polar opposite for Wilshere. Whilst Arsenal might not be the club he supported as a small boy, he`s been here for so long, he could be due a testimonial at the age of 19. He has Gooner DNA (to borrow a phrase from a slightly wanky human being).

When you also remember the fact that he recently signed a 5 year contract, and even more recently promised Arsenal fans that he would stay at Arsenal for life then I think it`s easy to say this is not a goer from day 1.

Of course it doesn`t need me to tell you this (well maybe one or two of you are still a bit sleepy), but in the interlull we need to find something to talk about.

Meh he's going nowhere. Jack is and always will be a gooner.

Silly season starts in November? I thought it never ended. P.S. heard the latest rumour about Arsenal supposedly interested in Nigel DeJong?
fifthcolumnblue
There no way that silly little p.r.i.c.k, would make the bench there COYS
spurspanther
A bit like Bale when he goes to Barca......

Just to add to the already massive list of reasons he won't go. he's also just become a dad for the first time. what are the odds he's going to up and leave said nipper, or move him to another country to play for another team when he's already in the place he loves. Arsenal to Jack is the same as Barca to Cesc.
Rocky7
Meh what a waste of print Marca. I am certain Jack isn't a whiny little Catalunian girl like he whose name shall not be mentioned.
LondonGooner
spurspanther - Would that be the same JW that completely ran rings round Xavi last season? The last time your sh**kicker club prodcued a decent English midfielder he preferred the dentist chair to training, now ***k off you t*t.
LondonGooner
he Still pwned you guys whenever we have played spurspanter.Couldnt ask for more.
Sajit
A father at nineteen! Well, if he’s had one this early in life then he’ll probably have more sooner rather than later and that makes his labour a little immobile. Who could resist Real Madrid if they come calling? With a young family perhaps Jack can. Just pay him what he is worth and we should have him for a while.
Sir Henry
The issue for me here isn't the credibility of Jack actually going to Madrid - it's the possibility (at least according to Matt Law's report) that Madrid have decided to target Wilshere in a new campaign similar to the 3-year one they waged to get Cronaldo from United. If true, we're in for another draining, obnoxious, exhausting media-driven saga.
jaelle
No Jaelle. Jack is no Cronaldo, will he or wont he. He has stated his desire to stay for life at Arsenal and IMHO Jack is the tipe of person that would issue a statment that he was going nowhere so to give the fans, not only a lift, but a peaceful transfer window.
Armory
Armoury - We can only hope mate.

There are some things that won't happen. Like John Terry attending a seminar on the life & works of Malcolm X (classic); like Arsene Wenger not "taking the positives" from a glaringly bad defeat; Like Jack Wilshere leaving Arsenal for Real Madrid. That boy is Arsenal through and through and wouldn't be talking unless he meant it; of course, if we were to have a crisis of gargantuan proportions...... then, who knows? ;-)
Naijagunner
Like he'd stay with you to lift all those air trophies. He's a**** anyway, overrated. I've called Agent Shawcross and he's told me he's onto it...
Tony Rocky Horror
Air trophies? Lol, and just how long is it since you've won anything other than the League cup? I'll give you a clue ..... it starts with "20" has the word "****ing" in the middle, and ends with "years". There are poor little children, teenagers and people in their early twenties that don't know what it's like to win a real trophy. Whilst there are 10 year old Arsenal fans who have seen their team win the league without losing a game. Mean while my own mother, who draws her pension next year by the way, was ten years old when Spurs last won the league. I bid you good morning.
Rocky7
lol, rocky you seem to know a lot of facts about the spurs, closet fan are you? funny thing is as the pikeys go more years without trophies the fan base is shrinking and the haemaroids gets quieter with every week, whereas ours has always been there through the years, loyal, true fans in every way, good day to you ;-)
jabbatheyid
Funny, despite the fact we haven't won a trophy for seven years we're still pulling 50,000+ for Carling Cup matches. So given your supremely loyal and "true" fandom, that you're selling out all these matches?
Rocky7
May I add, that Arsenal have huge loyal fanbases in Asia and US. Not the fairweather kind.. Sp*rs have some exiled Englishmen.
Sajit
Self exiled due to the ongoing humiliation suffered from their team, my spud brother in law had to move to Australia to escape the shame and pretends he no longer likes football! Until they win 3 in a row then his fb pic miraculously shows him kissing the cock.
nikolaijns
Ohhh, but wait, hang on.....I've heard some wicked whispers that Arsenal have been cooking their attendances to make it seem like more people go than do! Many have spoken of the empty swathes of seats that have opened up at games; those wide open spaces tell their own story. All of this appeared on the Le Grove website, where one contributor said, and I quote: " it's become so obvious is embarrasing. People just laugh when they read out the attendance because it's just so obviously bull*****."
Tony Rocky Horror
I'm afraid a lack of a response here speaks volumes.
Tony Rocky Horror
Its not surpising to see you hanging around the Le Groan website Tony what with it being a spud website and all.
Deltaforce
The volumes it speaks to me is that people just don't care about you or anything you say tony, for a troll being ignored is just the ultimate insult and the ultimate fail.
nikolaijns
Listen bud, Idon't give a rat's arse either way, I only put it down because you made some comment about Spurs not having dedicated fans or something to that effect. I also thought it might help you. I mean is that bull*****, or isn't it? I mean, that's the rumour doing the rounds. I repeat, it makes no difference to me, but if it's not true might I suggest, respectfully, that you tell them to stop spreading information to the enemy that can be deployed in the banter of everyday life. Still, have a good Sat night.
