Benayoun Should've Played More

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Yossi Benayoun should've played more so far this season given his ability, but such is the competition for places at the club.

Speaking to arsenal.com Wenger admitted that Benayoun more than deserves to start games as opposed to coming on as a sub, but he's been hugely impressed with his attitude.

'He has been absolutely fantastic but we have so much choice in midfield and we play with three strikers. The chances for the midfielders are not so big and that's why he has not played as much as he deserves. The attitude of all the players that came in has been great - everybody helps focus the team to win and he does that as well.'

With Benayoun starting only in the Cup, you'd expect him to start against Man City.

Competition for places? Where?
Sajit
Centre-mid, Sajit. We've got Song, Ramsey, Arteta (first choice?) who are all permanent members of the squad, as opposed to loanees from a local rival. Then we have Diaby, Frimpong, Wilshere (admittedly not just yet), Rosicky (captain of his country since he was about 22 and tidy for us this season), Coquelin... So that's 9 players for 3 positions. Similar situation on the wing, if you want to play Benny there.
