Vermaelen's Unfinished Business

Thomas Vermaelen has said that unfinished business was part of his decision to extend his stay at the club.

Speaking to arsenal.com the Belgian centre half said he had thought long and hard about committing his future to the club, but he feels there is some unfinished business here and he felt it right that he gave the fans something back.

'I thought about it really long and of course I knew there were some doubts about my club. For me the most important thing is that I feel happy at the club. Another thing is that I have only played one year because I was injured, and I wanted to give something back to the fans. I felt like for me I was not done here.'
