'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RVP - Santos Reminds Me Of Roberto Carlos

Robin van Persie has paid Andre Santos the ultimate compliment by saying he reminds him of Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos.

Speaking to arsenal.com the in form striker hailed the impact the left back had had since joining the club, and he's been pleased to see him develop in the way he has.

'When he first arrived I remember him saying he'd need 5 or 6 games before things would really kick off for him. It was true, he's grown stronger and fitter in every game and what I really like about him is his confidence on the ball.'

Making the comparison with Roberto Carlos, RVP added.

'He's firstly a left back, but he's so much more than that. He gets the ball to his feet, plays one twos, looks after the ball with style and plays a bit like Roberto Carlos. I love his play.'

High praise indeed and probably justified with how Santos has grown in the first team over the season.

Young left back?

Hmm. Not even sure what to say about this.

RvP is a good judge of a player in my book. Santos looks the real thing.
Amos.
I like him, I sure he'll get himself sent off a few times though. He is just what we needed at LB: Confident in his play, and with three good years in him, we have adequate time to let Gibbs grow or discover he'll not make it here.

Santos seems to know himself well and got the amount of games it took to get into his flow right - i was dissapointed at first, but tried to reserve judgment as his transfer seemed very rushed and all of a sudden he was playing in a different country with a different team and a different kind of football. He's only grown from strength to strength from what i've seen. Love his confidence.
