'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Miquel Delighted With Champs League Debut

Even if the result wasn't perfect, Ignasi Miquel was delighted to get on the pitch and and impress.

Speaking to arsenal.com after the game that saw him replace Santos in defence, the player said.

'It was amazing, it was a great atmosphere. I never expected it to be like this and making my debut in the Champions League is great for me. Unfortunately we lost, but it was my next step. I just need to get here more often now.'

This guy has been the real surprise package for me this season. Hasnt put a foot wrong this season to be fair.

I don't know about "Hasn't put a foot wrong this season......". He was caught out of position a few times last night. I watch the game in delay and particularily watching for his performance since we lost all our R/L backs. He def has promise but not ready for PL yet. I don't think we can count on him against Man City. That said, Djourour also had a terrible game last night.

Aside the Ox, the whole team was a joke last night. I thought Miquel was one of the better ones. He appeared very comfortable on the ball and showed a lot of intelligence.

Miquel had a good game overall, considering that our team overall was so poor. With Santos and Gibbs out, I wouldnt mind seeing him at LB against Everton, but I guess Verm will move there, leaving Kosc & Mert at CB.
