'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oxlade-Chamberlain 'Rumours Are Untrue'

There have been certain media outlets this morning suggesting that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain might be looking to leave Arsenal on loan this January, however the young forward moved swiftly to deny those rumours.

The Ox has been very much a cup player since signing for Arsenal in the summer and some people seemed to think this alleged lack of football would cause the Youngman to seek some temporary first team action else, despite his tender age.

However in one of the first useful posts on Twitter in the history of social networking Alex put those rumours to bed.

He Tweeted "Just to confirm, any rumours about me wanting to leave are completely false, couldn't be happier at Arsenal #AFC #VictoryThroughHarmony"

One thing that has always impressed about Oxlade-Chamberlain is his apparent wisdom beyond his years. To quote an old flatcap wearing man from the touchlines of a Sunday League pitch "he`s got a good 'ead on his shoulders that lad!".

Many people questioned the signing of The Ox saying we didn't need another young player of his ilk. Just imagine had we not snapped him up he could be playing for Man Utd, Chelsea or Man city right now. Top prospect. Going to enjoy watching him grow as a Gunner.

I think his dad might be a big factor in his attitude. A great prospect, I hope he can get some more game time this month.

I like the lad. Certain to be a starter next season.

...but, surely, a "loan" move can't be that bad for him, should he find fewer opportunities with Arsenal this season. It would seem Wigan is in for him; a team that can only help him improve, if the boss accepts.

I agree that a loan may be a good thing for him but I like the confidence to say he is happy with how it is going. I also think it funny that news updates are still coming out that he 'wants out' even after his tweet....do journos actually work??
