Wenger Not Planning New Signings

Arsene Wenger has said that he is not close to making any additions to the squad and he doesn't expect to either before the window closes.

Speaking to Talksport the gaffer said.

'At the moment we are not close to signing anybody. You can look around at all the big clubs and who brought players? Nobody because you can't find players at the moment who can strengthen big clubs.'

Better hope those injuries return sooner rather than later.

There is noone available in the world better than Djourou, Chamakh, Park or Rosicky. Noone at all on planet Earth that could strengthen Arsenal. OK sounds reasonable, all of our legion of scouts have reported back and they all say the same thing, stick with what you've got boss, more likelihood of finding someone that knows where the back of the net is on Britains got talent. Good job everyone, same time in August?

Niko, it takes two clubs agreeing to make these transfers happen and what the manager is saying is there is no one available (willing club, willing player, right price) who can improve us. Very few clubs are willing to give up their best players mid season; just consider the Samba at Blackburn situation and that is a player willing to leave. Do we really think Lille will sell Hazard in the window? Not encouraging the Manager but just trying to see things from his perspective. None of the top clubs have done any business so it's probably best we don't act desperate when we do have players, only on the injury list (for now).

Having said that, I'll be happy to see him pull something off on the last day, though.

The top scorer in Ligue 1 Sow has just moved for 10 mill as has the Ivorian Newcastle just picked up whos been pretty prolific in the bundesliga. I just don't buy it, I'm not talking the Hazards or Vertonghens of this world, there are always willing clubs and willing players, given the state of affairs with Wilshere and only one trustworthy striker and a mountain to climb in the league, you accept over the odds will need to be paid. But hey Chamakh will be dragging his fever ridden arse back imminently so problem solved right?.

we have injury problem every year and we are more willing to drop 10-15 points rather than to 'put a player in front' of youngsters who are even not good enough to begin with. the league is tight. even 5 points make a huge different especially this season. had we strengthen at critical moment a few seasons back, we might even have won a title or two. why we always missed the forest for the trees?

give us our first team choice [of who we have] back, and i would love to see how far they can go..the recovery this season has been very rewarding,[up until now] i just wanna see more cohesion that ultimately comes with familiarity.
