'If It's Football, It's Vital'

van Persie & Wenger Refute Spainish Claims

Robin van Persie has refuted quotes accredited to him in Spanish newspaper "Marca" claiming he would be excited to play for Real Madrid.

As is the norm around this time of year, one of the two top teams in Spain begin a tabloid assault on the Gunners in an attempt to snare our top players, and equally normal we see our player dismissing these claims (Though they do tend to bugger off a couple of years later).

Now it`s the turn of Robin van Persie.

The Arsenal captain dismissed the rumours as untrue.

'Contrary to reports in Spain I have NEVER spoken to Marca newspaper and never gave any interview. Enjoy your day.'

The Arsenal manager also weighed in and blasted the Spanish way of doing things.

'In Spain, they are very creative, they've created another story. They don't care.'

Put pen to paper Robin and the rumours will go away.
