Gervinho To Return For FA Cup Match

Gervinho To Return For FA Cup Match

African Cup Of Nations finalist (and possibly winner) Gervinho could be back in action for the Gunners as early as next Saturday according to Arsene Wenger.

The Ivorian, who bagged the winner in the semi-final has been missing for much of 2012 whilst on international duty will return midweek after playing in the final this weekend.

He won`t be ready for the crucial Champions League tie, but Wenger says he can see him playing in the FA Cup match at the Stadium of Light next weekend.

"Gervinho is in the final, I have had him on the phone and sent him some messages a few times. Said Wenger

"He plays the final and you know what the rule is - 48 hours later he has to be back. I see him playing on Saturday, not on Wednesday."

Seeing Gervinho back adds greater depth to the squad and the ability to rest Oxlade-Chamberlain. I`m looking forward to his return.

Think it's probably unlikely he'll feature against Sunderland, having got to the final I imagine he'll be given a good breather upon returning, reckon sp*rs is more likely, some goal he scored to get his country to the final, agree it'll be good to get him back though, we probably wouldn't have endured a pointless January with him.
