Team News: AC Milan vs Arsenal

The Champions League is back again, and with the season being as crazy as it is this might be our last run in it for at least a season, so we better make the most of it huh?

Tonight we face AC Milan in the San Siro, a team and stadium at which we`ve had great success in recent history, however our respective teams have changed a lot since then so we`re going into the unknown somewhat.

Is that 4-4-2, then?
Naijagunner
Is that 4-4-2, then?
Naijagunner
Come on we can do it!!
GoonerLou
OMG look what KPB (Ex-Yiddo) just done to the goons, get in there son looool. "we will go there and attack" zzzzzzzzzzzz Oh well maybe next year !! Maybe you can get Keown back on loan to show you how to defend.
YidEdy
Awful defending...
GoonerLou
Don't know why we didn't start the Ox?!
GoonerLou
Oh dear first KPB, then Robinho, oh what fun watching you let get ripped apart, get Titi on there he'll sort em out, he's still got 35 mins of his loan left lmao
YidEdy
And why Gibbs ahead of Djourou in defence?!
GoonerLou
Another insipid lacklustre display from our midfield. Painful lack of experience on show here. No real urgency as usual and players easily brushed off the ball. You have to ask yourself what exactly Wenger has learned in all these years of European football. It could be a long night and a big score. Throw the Ox on. At least he'd give Milan something to think about.
Wyn Mills
atleast we play on Wednesdays YidEddy..
Sajit
For now Sajittii
YidEdy
Not any more you won't
YidEdy
The OX isn't on because he's 18 years old and can't play every game, have we learned nothing from Wilshere. And Gibbs ahead of Djourou because Gibbs is a left back and Gibbs is better than Djourou. Simple decision. That said ... what a pile of kack. lol
Rocky7
Is Gibbs working???
GoonerLou
Wasn't Kos limping a bit?
GoonerLou
I say, I say, I say, what do you call Arse-5h1te-n1l without van-pu55y .................................. QPR, ............... have you seen the new van P tray ..................... it can carry up to 10 mugs .......... the old ones are the best
YidEdy
Its painful to watch to be honest. The lack of any real closing down or man marking in defence. Just awful stuff. The second Milan goal was unbelievably soft. Robinho wasn't even challenged when he nodded it in.
Wyn Mills
Henry on!
GoonerLou
OUCH
yid101
We're really shooting ourselves in th foot, Chelsea style
GoonerLou
Well i must say that inspired substitution was a master stroke ........ 3-0
YidEdy
You can see the players are just not interested in attacking, but all scared to concede now.
GoonerLou
Wow......you really are THAT bad....roll on the derby!
lillywhites101
Its beginning to look like Chelsea are the only British --- no the only London club still in the Champions League :)
Blue_Mel
ok, you lot are just embarrassing the premiership right now.
Guyver
All good strikes, all gifted though. Rocky say what you want about the lineup. I still feel, not just the lineup, the team just wasn't set up well enough for this.
GoonerLou
Apparently wenker studied the Milan v Spurs game, then just changed a few things to complete his preparation ...... hhhhmmmmm
YidEdy
well its goodnight from me and good night from arsenal . tee hee
ledleygomez
We only need one goal o be back in it. Just can't see where it's going to come from lol
GoonerLou
Goodnight and Goodbye Arsenal
Blue_Mel
Why did you just blow this game? There should be an investigation into this match! I just simply don't believe that you guys are this awful and making London and the Premier League look this dreadful. Milan are good but come on to destroy you like this just smells of match fixing ;)
RagingSpur
You can just see Van Persie thinking about what new team he'll be playing for next season lol.
Guyver
I seriously think the manager and the team should apologise for this performance. Not the shoreline, the bloody performance!! Not sure if we showed more fight against Utd that day than we are showing now.
GoonerLou
Stop sucking! 4-0 now! You are going to kill the PL co-efficiency! How are you so bad...just dreadful.
RagingSpur
To think we were able to dominate Milan last season at the San Siro with Palacios and Crouch!
Guyver
This is embarrassing. Is there any flipping point in qualify for next year's champions league? Let's face it, we're an average side in the PL, let alone the CL. Very sad.
Gooner_Vin
I feel for LD and all Gooners who forked out to fly there for this crap. You guys know I'm not part of the "Wenger out" brigade but I hold him responsible for this. We were always just one defensive injury away from a crisis. We were always crying out for midfield leadership and creativity. We had just one backup to Song, who had to double up as a backup defender. Dd we not know these? Nothing was done in Jan.
GoonerLou
Think Milan should have played their kids to make it a bit fairer on you lot. Full on destruction
sidtheyid_1990
It's time for change at our Club. Whether it happens or not, it's time for change. I'm pretty sure RvP will feel the same because I guarantee Wenger won't make any major changes in the Summer.
Gooner_Vin
You get the sense that Wenger boosts these players up so much they start to believe they're good as Barca, when they're evidently not.
Gooner_Vin
8-2 vs this guys? I dont know which made me puke more.
Sajit
We have shown inexperience and a lack of fight tonight. Almost overawed by the occasion. Midfield was poor and tentative; we were so predictable and were never dangerous until some parts of the 2nd half. This is not good as I don't see a way back here...at least, not with this lot.
Naijagunner
Naija - we're an average side, you can see it a mile off. One man team.
Gooner_Vin
Wenger has learned absolutely ziltch from the past. Everyone knew pace was the best way to get past this Milan team. But he has packed his midfield with plodders. Skillful plodders, but plodders all the same. We looked far more dangerous when the Ox came on, but by then the damage had already been done, and our patched up defence with Djourou stumbling over himself was never going to keep it tidy. But it really is in midfield that we have serious problems. We're lightweight and uncommitted, and to be honest we no longer belong in the competition.
Wyn Mills
I don't think I have seen a worse game from Vermaelen ever. Wal****, Ramsey and Koscielny should not be playing for this club.
Will-i-am10
Don't know what you guys see in Song tbh kepp hearing gooners calling him "World Class" he looks ace against poor teams at home and he has all the tricks. But he gets constantly owned in midfield against decent opposition. Kevin Prince Boateng just destroyed him, he wouldnt make our bench. He'd be good with a proper DM next to him, but he's not a DM! Reminds me of when we used to play Jenas as a holding player when we were awful.
HuddersfieldYiddo
I love Wenger's football philosophy. But its time he acknowledged he needs tactical help. Perhaps its already too late in his tenure, but my opinion of him as a manager is that he understands the grand art of the game without necessarily appreciating the oily mechanics - the small things that are the difference between long term success and continually falling at the last hurdle.
Wyn Mills
Wenger got the tactics all wrong + a few of the players were dreadful. He didn't use speed on the flanks, actually had nobody that I could see on the left aside from Gibbs in the first half, so Milan plugged the middle and forced all our play to the vortex that is Walcott. What was supposed to be Henry's triumphant swan song turned out to be a painful illustration of how far we have fallen since he last played for us. We needed the Ox wide left from the get-go to spread the play a bit. We easily could have done without Ramsey doing the same thing as Rosicky but poorly.
elbondo
The scum I can take knocking us and comments of poor play but Boof heads like Wyn give me the S@its. Suggest with your vast knowledge of football you apply for the job of manager. Its a pity you dont listen to arsenal greats like charlie George who when the team are down dont put the boot in. We lost we did not play to the standard we can all in all a poor night at the office. Heaven forbid there is never another war but if it should happen please Wyn face me because its better to see the enemy rather than have him stab you in the back. There is the second leg to play(big mountain to climb) but we are the Arsenal and nothing is beyond us. But hey Wyn put in that application I wonder how far you will go.
alwaysgunner
Boof head? I said he needs help, not that I could do his job. Typical defensive rant. Why don't you focus on the team rather than turn on a fellow fan? Why take it personally? Its a game, we're fans and we all have opinions. Deal with it and stop being over dramatic.
Wyn Mills
And if you really think we're going to overturn a 4-0 deficit (remember Milan only have to score 1 to make it that little bit harder) then I can only sit back and admire your tinted spectacles. Look, I'm in as much pain as you are, but I see no point in ignoring what went wrong tonight and certainly nothing wrong with discussing it on this forum. When we **** it still stinks.
Wyn Mills
Alwaysgunner, the performance tonight was awful and you have to allow for some venting. This team doesn't have what it will take to overturn this scoreline and take the tie. I will like to be wrong, of course.
Naijagunner
Arsenal = utter undisputed dog excreta. Team of average *****. No we would not prefer *****y schezney to fridel, mr sideways craban arteta isn't as good as modric, no we wouldn't want mr constantly lose possession Sagna over the most exciting fullback in the EPL, Kyle walker. I could go on and on. Season ending performance.
lillywhites101
All the Spuds muppets lording it up here better be ready for some serious payback if you lose at our gaff this weekend. We'd be only 7 points behind with our 'average' team.
Wyn Mills
But if we win you will be 13 points behind.. I bet your a lot more nervous than we are.
sidtheyid_1990
we played like spurs did at bernabeu last season, losing 4-0
49ers
49ers, except we beat AC Milan 1-0 in San Siro. Arsenal lost 4-0. AC Milan on the same page as RM with Jose Mourinho? Dont really think so.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-dirty-tackle/milan-dominating-arsenal-ruined-wojciech-szczesny-attempt-put-233241644.html?

Good stuff.
spursftw
Arsenal need a player like Eden Hazard hehe.
asherthesmasher
also we player Real Madrid with 10 men for 75 minutes.
Guyver
major deficiencies observed: 1) forgetting how to defend as a team. remember 8-2? the way we defended against milan, that was close. rosicky & walcott did not tracked back often enough. walcott should double up with sagna against ibrahimovic but he was no where to be seen. ramsey, song & arteta played high line defending to disastrous effect. the midfield layer of defense was breached so easily because milan game was very direct. they tried to get to ball to either boetang, ibrahimovic or robinho in probably less than 5 passes each time they attacked. just when our midfielders were trying to close down them from their half, the ball has already arrive to their forwards in a direct long pass. 2) impotent wingers. walcot, as usual. sagna could not support much as ibrahimovic was breathing down his neck the whole game. rosicky, why was he playing as winger? 3) side way passing. as usual, 57% possessions for nothing. i hope the team understand that the most dangerous attack is when the opponents are backtracking. then is when they get wrong footing and disoriented in defense. to force them to backtrack, we have to play more direct forward passing once we win the ball and we have to make more off ball movements. make ourselves available in front of the passer, not beside or behind of him or worst, hiding behind an opponent. we are always 3 passes more than we should have before the final pass. that is more than enough time for the opponent to settle their defense. remember how denilson used to one of the chart toppers in pl in terms of number completed pass? we are having more chart toppers now i suppose. it's an inherent problem for the last 6-7 years. not sure if it is in the tactic or the players
Joe_@**
Must be horrible being a Spud- 10 points ahead and possibly set up for finishing ahead of Arsenal for the first time in 18 years- but deep down you KNOW you will ***** it up. Your manager is already musing in the press about who he'll pick for captain for England. I'll give him credit and say he's done a good job with good players and no injury crises, but he's already gone in his illiterate mind and you will surely start to slide down the table now. Or not, but one season ahead of Arsenal in a urine-stenched stadium does not make you a bigger team. 18 years ahead in a shiny new stadium does make you a bigger team. Then again, I'm not obsessed with Spurs the way Spuds are with us. I look higher. How many PL titles have Spurs won? Zero you say? Enough said.
elbondo
ELbondo. I know it's painful old son. But just take your gradual, ever worsening demise on the chin, like a good little froggy
lillywhites101
Milan 4, Arseanal 0

Oh dear.

Its going to take the mother of all comebacks to progress to the next stage.

I DO wish other Spuds wouldn't take the p1$$ with quite so much OTT enthusiasm & childish put downs. There are better ways of doing it you know.

Spuds-U-Like
Like this!!

You lost in the San Siro by your largest ever margin in European games, when we won there last season to a better team, so KISS THIS!

Spuds-U-Like
Classy. Exactly what one would expect from the supporters of a club who have wriggled out of their commitment to build affordable homes aroound their new stadium and have instead prised more cash from taxpayers rather than spending some of their vast profits.
Wyn Mills
And that comes from the supporter of the team that did exactly the same and also reneged on the agreement to upgrade the tube and instal parking under the ground. Still you won't need a tube station or parking as all your fairweather supporters will stop coming to watch the ***** your pile of turd are serving up
cydtheyid
When you review the goals we conceeded, the first was a wonder strike that came about after a poor clearance from Chesney. The second was clearly offside. The third was down to an unfortunate slip by Vermaelen, and the last was frankly a dive by Ibrahamovic. But in each and every case we were found wanting defensively. This is the part of our game that disappoints me most. No accident that we have one of the worst defensive records in the league ... A team that was once famed for its hard defence.
Wyn Mills
Trashing our stadium plans. Is that the best you can do? Well that just shows that you've feck all to come back at us with.

I'm more interested in seeing just how long your moderator will leave that wiggly backside up there! LOL>

Spuds-U-Like
Wyn Mills, thats the most sensible thing you've said so far buddy. Maybe Le Whinger should've persuaded Winterburn, Adams, Bould & Dixon out of retirement rather than get the handball king back. It couldn't have been any worse!

Spuds-U-Like
Blimey, the spuds love a slanging match, don't they?

We're 4-0 down after the first leg to a side that I thought looked fantastic on the day. They scored four (fairly fortuitous) goals, but the reason they got them was that they had a good amount of the ball and were able to counter us consistently and well. We'll probably not go through to the next round, but that's life. If we don't win the champions league this year, will anyone be shocked?? Doubt it.
damiano_tommassi
Wyn, the 4th was appalling from Djouro, he got done like a kipper, you could see it happen in slow motion, if he dived why's Johan putting his arm across his shoulder?? he's thick & has no concentration, it was like a hot knife through butter at will, an absolute shambles.
shewore
"'Milan had a lot of the ball and Tottenham caught them on the break at the end of the game. You never decide when you break, you break when you can. It was a game which was vastly dominated, especially in the second half, by Milan. 'We will not decide at the start of the game that we will sit in our half if we have to, like Tottenham did... we will try to get out of our own half and try to get up there and play. Spurs won the game when they were dominated, but that's football today'" Spurs fan won't have said anything if wenger had shut his big mouth!
RamsesV
haha 4 fairly lucky goals eh? "and i would've got away with it if it wasn't for your pesky players being better than us all over the pitch"
shewore
Wyn Mills what a plank you are ,are childish put downs are us having fun on a team that has no class or spirit we have waited for this so let us have are fun ,on the game coming up at your modern day libary ,we are going to slaughter you and i will personally come down to rub salt in your stinking ****** wounds .You will drop a lot of points in the next few weeks and WILL struggle for a top four place making you all the more poorer for it ,oh yeah say good bye to van the man .
Edinburgh Spur
...their spelling doesn't get any better though...
damiano_tommassi
A lot of childish put downs on this thread but its not coming from us gooners, that's for sure.
Wyn Mills
Wyn Mills, agree with you, all the way. I have said it before about how Sczcesny needs to improve on his kick-outs, under pressure. Part of our game involves passing back to the keeper to retain possession, so the lad has to work on his ball skills to make that possible. As for the defensive performance, we got what we deserved the way we conducted ourselves; punished every time. Vermaleen looked like a CB who had been at LB too long. I knew Mertesacker's injury will be costly; he would have defended better against Milan or at least, organized better. Theo? What can one say? He was caught too many times admiring the Milan midfielders and forwards, with one particular case resulting in a goal (I have to check which goal again). We have made it difficult for ourselves by not scoring even one goal to take back. In any case, this bunch can't pull this chestnut out the fire. We should just focus on PL 4th place and the FA cup with confidence and see how well we do.
Naijagunner
To all the yids it may be the case that you have a better team now, after years and years and years in the wilderness, you can legitimately claim a stake for a top 4 spot, something we've taken for nothing but a given in the last 14 years. But, we've won the league on YOUR pitch more than you have, how do you feel about that? let alone how many times we've actually won the thing on our own turf, or others' (Anfield? Old Trafford?). We've provided some of the best players this league has EVER seen, you can't even claim to have been in a title race in... god knows how long?? You last won the thing in black & white! You're small fry compared to us, enjoy finishing above us this year - unfortunately we've been let down by faith to a f-kin model that is not working as it was planned, whilst you're not bothered by debt, we are (far too much) and whether it's the board, or Wenger that has got us into this jam, only time will tell. We're having our worse season under Wenger by quite some distance, yet you're one spot above us - and you can't stop giving it?
shewore
Spuds-U-Like, not the facts will interest you but Arsenal paid 60 million alone for a new state-of-the-art waste-recycling centre at Lough Road, and 7.6 million towards upgrading local transport links, (which London Underground chose not to implement). A sum was also raised to provide affordable housing (1000 by the Newlon Housing Trust) and the relocation of 83 businesses from the former Ashburton Grove Industrial Estate. We paid out, we didn't quibble and moan. Arsenal ended up paying the highest proportion of s106 improvements compared to the size of development, of any scheme in the country. Do your research before coming on here and showing us your hairy crack.
Wyn Mills
Arsenal do x10000 more for the borough of Islington that those shylocks do up the road for one of the most deprived in the country, effin joke what they give back to their communities = sweet fanny adams.
shewore
Hahaha, shewore, you live in the past mate as that's the only way you'll be happy pal. We will enjoy the now and future.
Tottenham Hotcore
Maybe you should do YOUR research first before slagging me off pal! Better still, READ posts properly before responding!

Tell me, you donut, where in my post did I compare our stadium plans with yours? Er, I didn't. YOU were the one who brought up stadium plans mate, not me. As far as was concerned it was an irrelevance not worth expanding on. As I actually said, "is that the best you can do?" From your last post, it seems it was.

Spuds-U-Like
The noisy neighbours are here like a septic rash when we lose. Decades of frustration will do that to you.
Wyn Mills
It's called projection Wyn, let it all out. There, there. Feeling better now?
North Upper
Dont get bitter we have a better team than you now. We have put up with u scum for years, so we are going to give Hard! Coming back about our stadium is pathetic #mindthegap
MrPaddytheyid
My mistake Spuds. From rereading your posts I can see that all you've contributed so far has been your hairy wiggling @ss. BTW, if you reread my post you'll understand that I wasn't exactly trashing your plans, just questioning the evident lack of philanthrophic spirit behind the development, a sad reflection on both club and fans. I'm sure the wiggling Spurs backside must be a familiar sight to local residents and Haringey Council.
Wyn Mills
LOL Wyn Mills!! Nice One. Great come back mate & I'm sure it is especially when wiggled in the direction of Ashburton Grove!

Lets just wait & see how the plans stack up once fully built & then we can have a p1$$ing contest to see who's is the most philanthropic.

Cheers buddy.

Spuds-U-Like
Cheers Spuds. Same time next week?
Wyn Mills
Any time Wyn mate, any time. Its been good fun - for now! ;-)

Spuds-U-Like
Loving this. Thick arsed idiotic French loving bumboy Gooner Homs, all getting upset & flustered because a few Spurs supporters are having a laugh at their expense. Diddums!! How many were over on VS when Spurs were considerably beaten by REAL MADRID (somewhat superior to the team that we KNOCKED OUT of the CL in the previous round), in the QUARTER FINAL?. The team that we KNOCKED OUT, is the very same team that gave you an absolute lesson lol.. But now you're all crying yourselves to sleep, just because the supporters of the team that is now casting a MASSIVE shadow over your 'has been' joke of a club, are having a little dig at your expense. Maybe if we dig deep enough, we'll be able to find that last trophy that you won!!

COYS!!
coopsieyid
'Has Been' club? Has it escaped your notice that we're currently 4th in the table and technically still in the Champions League? Something your club would already be printing commemorative DVDs about by now. Honestly, you muppets need to get a grip and some perspective. Let's not start talking trophies because you know it will get embarssing for you real quick.
Wyn Mills
MINDTHEGAP
MrPaddytheyid
How would it get embarrassing?. You can ONLY talk about trophies won in the past, so that'll be history. So, if all you can bring up is history, how about you tell us how many domestic & European doubles you've amassed?? Yep, I'm embarrassed.
coopsieyid
Oh & you'd do well to realise that you're only currently in 4th, because we batterd the team that was above you, Newcastle..
coopsieyid
I would leave your league championship record out of it if I were you.
Wyn Mills
coopsieyid, answer me this question. Were you alive the last time your team won the league? It aint history mate, its experience of success. When you've won a few titles and got to the Champions League final come back and tell us all about it.
Wyn Mills
Wyn are you liverpool in disguise? Going on about trophies? You're the ones that will need DVD's of trophy wins soon, so that you're younger fans will know that you ever won any. You can all prop up a bar somewhere going on about the good old days "spurs? we used to be above them" "free flowing football? we had that for a few years but now it's back with the real North London team" You're crying out for Henry to stay, says it all huh. RVP will not be at the Library next season and with his departure goes you're last quality player. Oh did you know you lost last night? 4-0 to a team that you said "if spurs can beat them so can we" well you didn't..lmao, you got spanked by four and it could and should have been more. We can't wait for the derby, you're in for a good hiding and you know it. Even you're ex players are laughing at you and have us down to win. 3-1 to the gods of North London, ven though we'll be at your schit hole. Wenger for England!!!!!!!!!!!!
Himwhatwhats
That's your defence is it? who's won more over the last decade or two? Yep def' liverpool fans nostalgia's great huh. As the tumble weeds roll across your half empty stadium you can keep warm thinking about a CL final loss you had a nice few years ago. COYS!!!!!
Himwhatwhats
Not the last 2 decades son. We're talking generations here.
Wyn Mills
Just admit it your s**t! & u know u r. We had years of it, but at least we admitted to it. Have you tried getting on or off the tube @ Holloway Road when Goons r playing at home what a joke! Drayton Park Station right next to away end but never open what an own goal by powers that be. Talk about a pile of s**t!
yid61
Ha HA..see lmao. Hold onto that eh,,son?. I suppose being in the shadow of a ****' you start to see young boys everywhere huh.
Himwhatwhats
Ah yes, the 'Wenger is a Peodo' riposte. Now I know you're getting desperate.
Wyn Mills
PITCH INVASION!!!!!!!!!! that's what we're doing right now. Bending over and taking a dump on your leg-hole of a ground. Your site is like your stadium...empty with no soul. COYS!!!!!!!!
Himwhatwhats
Desperate? why would we be desperate? We're not the ones struggling on all fronts now are we.
Himwhatwhats
I think you should have brought on Benayoun, with that class on the bench you might have created a few chances lol. Coops good point about Newcastle, thats what kind neighbours do we help each other out, talk about not being philanthropic, you guys wont even appreciate it when it's shown
IGSpur
"you ONLY talk about trophies won in the past!" yes, quite, and you've ONLY ever spoke about things you're gonna do in the future. You've been deluded for so long in our shadow you've forgotten what daylight looks like. If you eff up this 10pt gap, it'll be one hell of a capitulation, bearing in mind history, i'd keep schtum if I were you.
shewore
Champions League final? May as well have gone out at the same stage you're about to. You win the same thing!!.
coopsieyid
Himwhata*****, I'd wait until the end of the season before crowing too hard. Football has a funny habit...especially where Spurs are concerned.
Wyn Mills
You're sticking all your hopes on us messing up, not you doing anything good. Does that not tell you anything? scrub that, does it not tell you everything? The future is where we're heading, the past can't be changed so we move on. Your problem is that the future looks rubbish so you have to live in the past...it's warm there right? Henry still plays for you there doesn't he? you don't have to deal with the fact that you got your arses torn open last night there huh?
Himwhatwhats
what did you do with my name anyway?..i'm interested in what you changed it too...spell it out l.i.k.e t.h.i.s so i can see your childish gooner anti banter
Himwhatwhats
How on earth can we F up the 10 point gap?. We'd need to chop off the left leg of every player we have, for that to happen. Our next 5 fixtures = United, Stoke, Arseanal, Chelsea & Everton. Your next 5 fixtures = Us, Liverpoo, Newcastle, Everton & Villa..

There will be no closing of any gap after those games have been fulfilled!!
coopsieyid
Hey, we're not the ones dedicating a whole article (with close to 100 comments and counting) on Arsenal's 1st round loss to AC Milan. Just who is obsessed with who?
Wyn Mills
IG - Liking your style my man ;-) lol
coopsieyid
Its an anagram of tawt. I'm sure you can work it out.
Wyn Mills
Wyn - You're clearly NOT an idiot. So you ARE therefore that the article on VS is ONLY about the STUPID words your manager & one or two of his players were spouting prior to your game taking place. What is happening over on VS is this... Those words are being rammed straight back down the deluded throats of the moronic individuals that spake them ;-) .. That is NOTHING to do with obsession, Wyn. That is called Karma!! Smells great doesn't it? ;-) COYS
coopsieyid
Ooh I've got it.. Is the anagram WATT??
coopsieyid
Atleast we are actually making your site look popular, you seem to be the only a***nal fan that cares about your (rap team
MrPaddytheyid
That's the truth Paddy. He (Wyn) is doing his club proud. Just a shame his manager & players aren't!!
coopsieyid
@Wyn - at least we can generate 100 comments on an article from today unlike your lot. I suppose it's the same lot on here who go to the games and sit in silence for 90 minutes week in week out. We have passion and we're loving every minute of this. COYS

It's 11 points anyway. Goal dif' counts as a point when we're that far in front. Oh and who's obsessed with who? You have your goalie spouting crap about "we'll be above tottenham at the end of the season" and wilt*****e "i'll give 2k to charity if we finish below them" You lot loved it when we beat the bar codes last week, it helped you out for 4th...awww do you need us to beat your rivals? i say your rivals as we're not anymore, damn future!!!. Our rivals are the manc clubs, yours are newcastle and sunderland.

You Spuds obviously, have nothing better to do than to come on this site to crow after the 1st leg of a tie against a team that can be upset on another day. It is mid day on a work day, fellas. Go get a life! Okay, I forgot; THIS (on this site, crowing) is your life.
Naijagunner
Yeah, I have noticed traffic is up on VS since you started playing well. Funny that. Its all crowing cr@p mind, but each to his own.
Wyn Mills
@ damiano_tommassi Blimey, the spuds love a slanging match, don't they? We're 4-0 down after the first leg to a side that I thought looked fantastic on the day. They scored four (fairly fortuitous) goals, but the reason they got them was that they had a good amount of the ball and were able to counter us consistently and well. We'll probably not go through to the next round, but that's life. If we don't win the champions league this year, will anyone be shocked?? Doubt it. No, no surprise at all because you haven't got anywhere near winning it all the years you've been in it and don't bother coming back with at least we have been in it all those years cz the idea is to win the CL not just attempt to participate. Our first attempt and we get to the 1/4 finals and on the way beat the team that you just got hammered by Oh what deep joy your manager gives us when he opens his mouth to slag our win off then ends up getting slammed because his tactics were so crap and he thinks he knows better than 'Arry. Rather have 'Arry any day than Arse n winger.
chrishove123
Except you won't have Twitchy Taxdodger for much longer will you? And when Modric catches the next flight to Manchester it will all come crashing down, as it always does.
Wyn Mills
Wenger for Arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yido T
Arse n winger LOL slip of the finger, I obviously meant Arse n Whinger.
chrishove123
Naijagunner - "It is mid day on a work day, fellas. Go get a life!" Good argument seeing as you just wrote on here. Wyn Mills - We accept we wont have Redknapp next year? What are you getting at? And Modric DOESNT carry spurs like RVP carries A***nal. You would literally be fighting for relegation without his goals, work it out. (By the way I respect you giving it back - your probably the one fan that sings at your library)
MrPaddytheyid
Hww loving your comments..tbf and this inst sarcasm Wyn Mills is making me laugh with his tawt comment, lovin the banter.

Ironic that NG has come on to VA at midday to insult those commenting at midday. Cant make it up
IGSpur
What I'm getting at is without Twitchy there will be no-one to pack your team full of short term fixes at extortionate cost to the club. You really imagine you are building a team to dominate the league for years to come? LoL.
Wyn Mills
Phuck off back to Woolwich, North London is Ours....
StillRickyVilla
Like you we haven't been spending money on big players, but the difference is our team has improved doing this! New manager and money to spend in the summer I would be worried. #mindthegap
MrPaddytheyid
Wyn you have a manager living in the past trying to get players to play football that they can't. Cesc and nasiri have gone and the sooner your manager realises that and plays to the players that you have got strengths the better it might be for you, but he won't.
Yido T
We're the Arsenal. Why would we be worried? We have a new shiny home, not a urine soaked cowshed. We've rarely finished outside the top of the premier league. Despite the current mess that won't change this season. We've got work to do but it'll be done. Then we'll see where we are. I just hope all these new spuds recruits are still around when it happens.
Wyn Mills
"SHINY HOME" well done on that, don't think you needed one with the empty seats that your "fans" normally sit in. " Despite the current mess that won't change this season" Atleast you can admit your teams a mess!!! lol
MrPaddytheyid
I'm not so one-eyed I can't see the team has problems. And everyone has their own opinions about Wenger, as I do. But it isn't time for him to leave, much as you would like that to happen. The coaching staff certainly needs a shake up. Wenger has done more for this club in the past 15 years than most could not have done in 150. I'd wager there are more spuds secretly praying Wenger leaves out of fear rather than loathing. An entire article on VS has been dedicated to virtually burning his effigy. You'll probably deny it but that's fear, pal. Pure fear.
Wyn Mills
was that a comeback to me because I aint mentioned the Paedo onnce?
MrPaddytheyid
Believe me at the moment I hope he stays. And your right what does pat rice actually do apart from nod his head when the manager says anything.
Yido T
No, that was Himtawttawt.
Wyn Mills
What short fix players are we currently seeing in a THfc shirt that are an extortionate cost to the club??. Parker at 5mil & is being spoken of by every pundit in the land as "the transfer of the season".. Friedel was FREE, and has proven to be excellent. Saha was FREE, Nelsen was FREE... Adebayor is on loan, and costing us no more than any other top player at our club.. ONLY Friedel, Saha & Nelsen can be described as 'old' in footballing terms, with parker pushing them close. But apart from those aforementioned players + King & Gallas, I'm fairly sure that we don't have a single player above the age of 30. But we have Dawson & Caulker to take the place of King & Gallas. We have Sandro to take the place of Parker, and we have whichever striker comes in in summer, to replace Saha. Though we could of course make Ade's signing permanent aswell. So YES, we really imagine we're building a team to dominate the league for years to come. I believe your manager was doing the same with 'kids' for the last 10 years or so. How's that going again?? lol
coopsieyid
"tax dodger". Hang your head in shame young man. innocent was the verdict, and what you've just written is libelous!
coopsieyid
Wyn Mills actually we're hoping that Wenger stays. we love what he's doing at Arsenal these days.
dazzwater
"but it isn't time for him to leave, much as you would like that to happen"... Why the hell would we want Whinger to leave?? He's doing a facking awesome job for us. As long as his stubborn ass is in control of the 'none spending club' that is Arseanal FC (The board want him to spend, but he won't), the gap that you currently see between us, will continue to grow until it's renamed The Grang facking Canyon of North London, home of THFC!!
coopsieyid
or the Grand facking Canyon of North London.. I got my spelling lessons from Redknapp!!
coopsieyid
Pat Rice = Smithers!
Arsene Wenger = Montgomery Burns

I've supported Spurs since i were a wee lad (MANY YEARS!) I remember the Duoble (Very Vaguely) I remember European Success (Very Drunkenly) I also remember the MANY MANY years of nothing!

but the one thing that stands out is the constant banter form Gooners - now its time for much needed, much awaited payback!

Wyn - i doff my hat at you sir for being the only gooner with what appears to be a voice and have the nerve to hang around taking it. your defence OF your club is worthy! however your defence AT your club is awful at the moment

And FYI i was speaking to your old captain (The donkey) at the weekend and he was gutted at how badly your guys are performing (and that was before last nights result!)

Wyn - Respect! COYS!!!
YT_Boy
No player is FREE, as you know. Wages have to be paid. And taking about stupid money, hasn't Adebayor hinted that money will be a significant factor in any permanent move? Better get ready to splash over 170k on the greedy fecker. Parker, Freidel, Saha, VDV and Nelsen - all short term fixes reaching the end of their careers. Modric and Bale will be off to 'bigger clubs' (VDV's words, not mine) in no time at all. As we all know Twitchy will be stepping off the stone that is Spurs into the England job. On top of that you have a 400m stadium to finance. I think Levy has a lot of thinking to do.
Wyn Mills
YT - That was a post that demonstrates why we have the more classy supporter!! Well said you old basterd ;-) lol
coopsieyid
VDV may go but Hazard (not micky) will slip in there lovely to play with modric and bale. COYS
Yido T
Wyn - the disappointing thing is that VS Gooners have run 9 articles since Saturday - with less responses by your fans that this one article combined

I therefore believe Sir you owe us thanks for more than increasing your footfall ;-)

as with the Newcastle result - we do try to help our neighbours that are in need ;-)

COYS!!!
YT_Boy
VDV has JUST (5 days ago) turned 29 man lol. Adebayor = A player that a fair few of us THFC supporters aren't overly concerned about making a permanent signing. Many of us feel we could get better value for such money. Still reckon that'll be Leandro Damiao ;-).. You say about Modric & Bale being off to other clubs, and then use the words of VDV from last summer. We're a somewhat different picture to look at now ;-).. Most of the financing for the stadium will be done via naming rights. That'll be 200mil, and you're forgetting that Parker is the only money we've paid out for transfers in at least the last 3 or 4 windows. Yet we have about 10 players to sell on aswell. Redknapp won't be hard to replace, and there will be few managers who aren't interested in joining what is being described as 'the most exciting team in the country' (not by us deluded supporters, but by almost everybody in the game). Just imagine if Harry's replacement is somebody with actual 'pulling power'. You'll be even more gutted than you currently are. But as I said in my previous response to you, Parker, Saha, Nelsen, Gallas, King.. they ALL have replacements ready to step in already. So altoughh they may be short term answers, the long term replacements are already aboard the good ship Tottenham. God it's good to be a Yiddo :-)..

How's your long term future looking? You've named 4 or 5 players that we need to be concerned about replacing, although they're already replaced ;-). You've got a whole bloody team/squad to replace. Ouch!!
coopsieyid
Lol, seriously dont spurs scumbag fans have a life? Sad.
Sajit
YT_Boy, the others are on their way back from Milan that's all. ;0) I'm sure we'll return the favour next season.
Wyn Mills
Btw, cant blame the pitch. Cricket teams regularly do the same to negate opposition. For example, teams like India and Sri Lanka produce dustbowls while South Africa produce really pacy pitches to help their fast bowlers. Having said that, Im not really angry or mad. Probably because I have more or less resigned to fate at the start of this season. Anything - including a top 4 finish is a bonus.
Sajit
Had to laugh at Paul Heyward's description of Milan laying down 2 shagpiles on either side of the pitch. That's one way of stifling wing play. Perhaps its something we should seriously consider installing at the Emirates for visits of United. A system that flips up at the press of a button.
Wyn Mills
Wyn, you STILL posting!? Feck me, you've been at it all day fella! Got to admire your stamina mate, you're obvioiusly a real stand up & be counted Gooner! Good on yer, you're welcome over at VS anytime to try & give us a good verbal kicking, but wear your thickest shinpads! BTW, Wyn Mills? Does the anacronym NFN mean anything to you mate? LOL ;-)

Sajit, is that a dose of reality I see there buddy? Just goes to show that with you & Wyn Mills, there really are non delusional gooners out there.

Spuds-U-Like
Sajit fantastic comeback! i suppose VA doesn't have much comments on its articles because Arsenal fans all have lives (except when they're winning).
dazzwater
Totally understandable that Spurs fans are having a field day after facing the humiliation of the annual St Totteringham's day for more than a decade.
Sajit
Wyn - I'm looking forward to next seasons banter as per the normal.

however that said, maybe you better start getting some research done on teams like NEC, Braga, Legia, Plzen etc.
We can't have Monty telling your deluded fans (present company excluded) that these teams are a walk over as it's only the Europa! That's really about all you'll get next season!

And if thy're on the way back form Milan I bet its damn damn quiet on that plane?

COYS!!!
YT_Boy
Spuds, I happen to have some time off and am wandering around with a mate's ipad. But yes, I've spent far too much time already bantering with the zombies invading this site. Time to get on and do something useful.
Wyn Mills
i apologyse fro the trying eorros - Harry lnet me his computa ;-)
YT_Boy
Dazzwater, I rather have VA as it is than have 800 rambling retarded posts for every thread. Lol. Empty vessels make a lot of noise , as someone said. :-)
Sajit
Sajit i suppose it's easier for you to focus on the retarded posts instead of replying to the taunts from your rivals. after all you don't have much to come back with.
dazzwater
Then how come its so quiet at your ground?
ippo1st
When you loose RvP you will be up there with Wigan... as for Wenger as his hilarious pre-match "Tottenham this & Tottenham that", I thought the man had more class. What a tw*t
Cape Town Spurs
Anyways, since I actually have stuff to do..and feeding trolls isnt included in my to do list. Ill leave you to enjoy VA.
Sajit
Sajit bye!
dazzwater
and since i'm apparently a troll...

enjoy your decline too. few fans get the chance to see their club decline and disintegrate over 6 painful years the way you guys have. but it's not over yet; your failure to get a top 4 finish will be the real beginning of the end of Arsenal as a top English club.
dazzwater
Yeah, Sajit. Posts like "1st!", "gold", "silver" and such meaningless entries make up the so called 'traffic' on VS. Excited chattering then follows. Not very edifying banter, if you ask me. Our fans are waiting for the place to be fumigated to get rid of the infestation so we can resume with more meaningful exchanges on OUR site. Thank you.
Naijagunner
Naijagunner, its called HAVING FUN mate, a concept that most of you lot lost sight of years ago. Judging by the number of posts you get on your articles, I'd say you could get the entire VA membership into one living room!

Come on guy, let loose, have a laugh. You'll feel a lot better for it.

Spuds-U-Like
My god, that was an awful performance! The only thing the players can do to redeem a ***** poor performance is to win the return leg at all costs. A 1-0 or 2-0 win with a solid defensive performance will go a small way in restoring some pride. I feel sorry for LD and the other gooners who travelled all the way to Milan to see such crap.
prits
Come on peeps lets give the Goners some respite, bad enough that the band of powderpuff players Whinger has put together were destroyed by an average Milan team who granted had a good game on the night; but then they can't vent their frustrations because us Spurs are all on here giggling and pointing and laughing at their every complaint. I say we leave the four members of Vital Arsenal in peace and wait until the NLD is over to really take the pish out of them. I don't expect Spurs to win 8-2 but surely Goners can't concede four more goals? Sunderland in the cup ain't going to be pretty!!!!
Slurms McKenzie
Naijagunner you seem to know alot about VS, 1 of your guilty pleasures eh? :0
Guyver
quite frankly a ***** poor perfomance last night i think youll agree made even worse that a spurs old boy kicked off the shenanigans.
Audere est Facere
Spurs>Arsenal.
asherthesmasher
Guyver, I am right about your site then?
Naijagunner
Partially Naija, but you're cherry picking the "negatives", which are heavily out weighed by the positives. You wouldnt be such a regular visitor to VS if all it contained was excited chatter and "1st!", "gold", "silver" comments. The variety of posts that comes with such a populated site is what keeps you coming back for more!
Guyver
Sorry to burst your cherry, Guyver, but VS is not a site I visit "regularly", not to speak of "coming back for more". One visit decided me. But, Fair play to you guys, you seem to enjoy your own special brand of banter and seem to thrive on the number of entries, irrespective. Enjoy mate!
