Wenger Wins Barclays Manager Of The Month Award

Wenger Wins Barclays Manager Of The Month Award

In a month that saw Arsene Wenger`s position as manager of Arsenal Football Club called into question (by myself also), the Frenchman has scooped the "Barclay`s Premier League Manager of the Month" award.

Of course the games which caused many people to question the continued relationship with Arsene and Arsenal came in the FA Cup and Champions League as the Gunners crashed out of the former and were embarrassed in the first leg of the later. However his league performances have been outstanding.

Kicking of the month with what was a fairly disappointing 0-0 draw against Bolton at the Reebok, Gooners couldn't have guessed what was to come as the boys went on a 3 game winning streak in which we beat a tough Sunderland team at The Stadium of Light (thanks Thierry) and annihilated a struggling Blackburn side 7-1 at The Grove before blasting our arch rivals to smithereens (I love that word) last Sunday after going 2 goals down early in the first half.

If Arsene can keep up our current league form to the end of the season and clinch a place in the top four (top three would be huge) it will be considered a fairly successful season when you consider out start.

Hopefully Wenger will not be affected by the Manger of the Month curse and will go on to prove many Gooners (myself included) completely wrong and be the right man to lead Arsenal back to where we want to be.

That's some good news. Its been a long time since he won it and one can't help but feel he has not been given a fair look in. Congratulations to the man.
