What An Effort, We're Proud Of You Boys!

If you`ve gotta go out, go out swinging.

And that`s exactly what we did.

We battled and battled looking for that knockout punch, but it remained elusive. Our attacking style left us vulnerable to a sucker punch, which threatened to materialise on a couple of occasions, but we stood tall and gave it everything.

In the end, AC Milan took the bout on points, but we have every right to be proud of our boys. Our mistakes may have put us in this position in the first place, but they did everything to right their wrongs.

The good thing about it is that we put out a performance to be proud of, and one that can be built upon. It gives us belief. It`s not a result that`s going to sap confidence.

If we can play like that till the end of the season, we`ll have no problems in qualifying for this competition for next season.

Well done boys, we`re proud of you.

We tried but we only tried. Tonight is one night I'm extremely proud to be a Gooner. TBH, I don't think many a fan went in with belief that we will go thru. Well done lads, very well done lads.

Just looking on NewsNow and seeing all the "Brave Arsenal ..." article titles is testament to that performance. If TalkSport are calling us brave it must have been one hell of a ride.

just proud. this result may actually work well for us as we can now concentrate 100% on the remaining games in the pl. i reckon that it would be rather difficult for us to go far with our team this season had we advanced and would only serve as a distraction

Having played with such intensity in the first half it must be incredibly difficult both physically and mentally to have to sit and listen to the manager for quarter of an hour at half time - those hamstrings must have really tightened up before they came out for the second 45, and it wasn't surprising to see AOC, who had worked so hard in the first half, clutching the back of his leg. Song looked as though he was carrying a niggling injury all through the game. It's brilliant to see Rosicky back in form, considering where he has come from. A few years ago people doubted whether he'd ever return to play at a high level, and I'd say around 75% of Arsenal fans wanted him sold over the summer. Needless to say, I'm immensely proud to be a Gooner tonight.

Also, although speculating on future players/ teams tends to be a fool's game I have to admit that the thought of a Coquelin, Wilshere, Chamberlain midfield three in a few years is extremely exciting. All three players outstanding in both talent and attitude, and I think would offer very complimentary skills in the middle of the park.

arsenalrob, agreed. rosicky is fast becoming indispensable to the team. i think wenger should rethink his over-30 policy. rosicky probably can last as long as bergkamp. at the risk of repeating myself, his surge in form is most likely due to wenger playing him in his natural position in the centre instead of at the wing since he first arrived. same applied to arshavin, play him in the middle if he comes back

Having said all of the above 'indispensable' may no longer be the best word to use for Tommy given AOC's showing in midfield tonight.

Gosh, didn't see your game tonight (was watching us see off the mighty Birmingham City, in a replay!) but that is one Hell of an effort! There may not be an English club in the quarters this year but at least you did England proud even in defeat, beating Milan 3-0 is something to be proud of and if we can show the heart I'm guessing your boys did tonight, then maybe we can turn round the Napoli tie and continue to carry the flag, you never know (maybe Bobby Di Matteo can do what Avram Grant did for us but go just one kick better!)! Anyway, sincerely, bad luck but at least you have finally found form at the right time. I think you can finish above Sp*rs and will certainly be playing CL football next year, unlike some of us!

Nice to see you evaluate rvp's worth to that of Torres, Spanish blue.......I tell you what, if you offered 50 million then 1 million per goal more he has scored then Torres over the last year you might be getting an evaluation, not a sale ;)

Proud of the club - it was a performance befitting our history and values. We as supporters are emotionally drained today - spare a thought for the players and how drained of energy they will be. The players will need some real motivation and rest to pick themselves up for Newcastle in the league. Hope there is no hangover from this epic performance. Onwards and upwards.

Only got to see the 1st half last night due to work, really thought when I left that it was gonna happen & I was going to miss the greatest comeback of all time, was cussing taking the work on, sterling effort though and pride has more than been restored. Now back to business in the league, bring on the barcodes. UTA!

What an effort! I couldn't watch the game but there was a small part that hoped that there would be an unlikely comeback. I do hope that these last few performances motivate the team for the rest of the season. 3rd place needs to be the target.

Don't think you could have asked for anything more from the team after 2 consecutive comebacks. We could have done without the internationals this week too. I can only wonder at the difference having a Wilshire, Diaby and Arshavin on the bench might have made. I had a sense we lacked the strength in depth to take us over the line at the death - even before the match started - but at half-time I was delirious with joy at the thought of the miracle happening. We got the all import early goal and you could see the belief flooding through the players. I thought Milan were fearful, poor, started slowly and were there to be mugged after that. The referee was a joke giving free-kicks for players tripping over themselves. He did his best to spoil the match. Let's be honest we probably wouldn't have progressed much further but the performance last night was a credit to the team as a whole.

The morning after and just feel immense pride in the players and Club. Fantastic to see Rosicky in this form, I think it's no surprise given he's playing in the right position for him. He's always really been a central midfielder, not on the wings. With less injuries in the midfield area, I'm sure we could have done it. Also, let's not underestimate the effect the San Siro pitch had on this tie. Hopefully, the fact that the Newcastle game isn't until Monday will give the team just enough time to recover physically and mentally. Let's all cross our fingers about injuries. The team needs to put this level of effort in every remaining game and I'm sure we can get 4th, if not one place higher. UTA!

Thought it strange that Rosicky and The Ox were both doubtful for the match but were probably the 2 best players on the pitch. Perhaps goes to show you don't necessarily have to be 100% fit to give a great performance.

Very proud! Some great performances all over the pitch. A lot has been said on Rosicky and I'll add to that, this is the second time he has had a run of games injury free....the other time he was also excellent! He is a great player and a real asset. I think people should give Diaby the same opportunity to come back and get settled.

Gibbs did his defensive job very well and is getting better each game, shame he didn't have a shot on the couple of occasions he had the chance, but I'm sure that confidence will come with a few more games.

Gibbs still needs to learn to snap into the challenge, neatly. He leaves his man with too much space at times when he should be getting closer. He will get better with a little more aggression to his game; but, he is not yet an Ashley. Still, credit to him for a good performance.

Not yet Ashley Cole age 23+ but 10 years ago he was 21 and still a bit twitchy...although he did bang in a cracker against Bolton that age! Once again I urge fans to be patient with players coming back from injury. Rosicky is showing what a run of games can do, the last time Gibbs had a good run he was knocking on England's door. I've had ACL reconstructive surgery and I know how hard it is to come back after a long time out. I was out for 18 months and it took a good year for me to get back to my best after that. It wont take that long, with the help Arsenal players have, but it will take a little more.

Great effort last night, shame you ran out of steam in the last 15 mins. I really thought at 1/2 time you'd do it. Seen Charlie Nicholas on last night's Sky football special? Brilliant TV.

Do you guys think that this is a turning point or are the cracks simply being papered over? Personally, I'm not convinced anything's really changed at your club, I thought the passing was well below your usual standard, in fact the Arsenal of last season would've kicked that Milan team, but then last years side wouldn't have lost 4-0 in the San Siro either.

Its going to be an interesting run in towards the end of the season to see who misses out on CL between us, you & the Chavs, looking forward to seeing what happens.

Spuds, you have to take injuries into account...and yes the loss of world class midfielders like Cesc and Nasri was bound to leave gaping cracks behind that we are still slapping pollyfilla over. It would be like ripping Modric and Bale out of your team. But there are grounds for optimism. Wilshire's return should add bite and creativity to our midfield, and if RVP can avoid injury I'd still back us to hold on to 4th at least.
