'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Arry 'Its Back At Szczesny

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has come out swinging after Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny told reporters last week that, 'We are four points behind the other north London club - I am not going to say their name - and hopefully we can challenge them. '

'Hopefully Chelsea can challenge them for fourth place and I would be really pleased to see them in the Europa League next season. That would be fantastic.'

But Spurs boss Redknapp had a pithy response when quizzed in his Friday press conference around Szczesny's comments, 'Szczesny says he is coming to get Tottenham? Oh yeah, yeah, he does have a lot to say Szczesny, doesn't he?' Redknapp said.

'I'm a big fan of his, he is a fantastic goalkeeper and he could end up being one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League but he does come out with some stuff doesn't he? He was having a go at Chelsea the other day and god knows what.

'He is a fantastic goalie, but he should just keep doing what he does.'

Redknapp went on to profess his disaste for players commenting on their rivals, 'I don't like it,' he said. 'There is no need for it. Just get on with it, just get on playing.

'You weren't allowed to speak to the Press when I was playing. If you got caught you got a fine of a week's wages, which was about £7
.'

Given Henry James Redknapp's favourite pass time of winding down his car window to greet passing reporters and his infamous treatment of transfer targets, ('He's a triffic player that we like, but we have to be respectful' etc), I'd say he's spent a good chunk of his management career making up for the press embargos he suffered as a player.......LD.

Very obvious fake Spurs posts Bout time the FA told the little upstart muppet novice to stop bring the game into disrepute. Mourinho was right . The Arsen*l manager and now his players are all voyeurs and have a sickness. Hopefully the twit will cheer Chel$ki on and they'll knock you out of the CL spot. Now that would be funny, and justice.

I have to say I do agree with Redknapp on this occasion, we should just shut up, keep our heads down and work feckin hard. Big statements mean sod all and we don't need to be giving any rival any incentive. I mean christ I know finishing above sp*rs is the only thing we have left to fight for this season and that's embarrassing enough without having to mouth off to the media about it.
nikolaijns
Agree Niko, we are only 1-2 losses away from the gap widening from 1 pt.

'I hope our rivals finish outside of the Champions League places, and Chelsea seem to be run by their players' - seems perfectly reasonable to me. Nothing outrageous, disrespectful, libellous, illegal, or that most of us don't agree with!

Well, I would agree with Harry. But I think he has responded 3 months too late.
