I can also smell the diarrhoea. I must add though, everything is going your way at present and nothing is going ours. These things usually even themselves out, theres still 9 games left and we have an easier run in. All to play for.

Tough win today. it was a bit nervy towards the end. fantastic 3 pts though and it gives a nice cushion for the game against man city. if we draw that, it would still be a good result.

Sorry HBB but Arsenal have years of experience over you. You MIGHT hang on to 4th, IF you're lucky. But either way, I think I'm going to get out the bunting again to celebrate St Totteringham's Day :-)

Great performance, initially, by the lads tonight, until Everton started to come back into the game. Then we had to grind out the win.

Henry Brown - Why didn't we get that blatent pentaly when Rosicky was fouled in the box if the ref was handing it to us? The ref had a fantastic game, it's so rare to see a ref not give in to home crowd pressure.

On the game, it was a great and difficult win. I don't think anyone can go in expecting with full confidence to beat Everton at home. They really stuck it too us in the second half but we're not so easy bullied anymore. Everton like to play with the hands on players backs a lot at home but we pushed back.

Getting your excuses in Henry? We might have had a spot of luck today, but you were 2-0 up at the Grove looking to move 13 points clear of us. It doesn't even matter that we've performed brilliantly recently, the only reason we're now in front of you isn't because we've been ace, or because we've had luck, it's because Spurs have bottled it. No more, no less.

A lot of spuds are saying how they can't believe how much luck we have had this season! Wtf! Our worse start to a season in half a century, a humiliating potentially season ending battering at old Trafford, while we watch our rivals run away at the top of the table. This team have dragged their battered and bloody body off the floor and hauled ass! Sheer bloody determination and Hunger. Any spud that thinks we are lucky old arsenal should look back at the league table in September. They also say "how will we handle it now having to look over our shoulder at them" they forget that we have been doing that for the best part of the last two decades! Hats off to this magnificent team and wenger, after the summer debacle and the horrendous start the team and the manager haved proved me wrong. If we make the top 4 this year, in my opinion it will be one of wengers biggest achievements after having our squad torn to shreds by city........the beginning of the season this team were like a deer caught in the headlights. I admit I started to dought wenger, but he picked the team up by the scruff of the neck and dragged us back to where we should be! Now let's finish this and get the job done!

Was totally expecting a tough game at Everton, but the way the boys came out of the traps for the first half was just brilliant. You won't see better one touch link-up play this side of Barcelona. There was real understanding going on there, and you could see the benefit of having a rested team. Of course once the toffees had stopped admiring our play and got stuck in it got much harder. But was still mightly impressed with the way players continued to harry and harass and look for the ball. This is a different team to the one that started the season, without a doubt.

38 games sajit.....I know mate. But the fact we have risen above the spuds after the season we have had, and the "mind the gap" crap i have had to endure, it's a celebration in itself, regardless of what happens from here on don't take that away from me :)

Gunnerfan, we competely blitzed Everton in the best part of the 1st half and should have been 4 up if Ramsey had taken his chances (well, credit to the body blocking posse in the Toffees' defense). It only looked like we won 'ugly' because the home side improved in the 2nd half but I can't recall Sczcesny being really troubled all game.

As for the disallowed goal by Drenthe, my interpretation was that the forward player for Everton, who was in an offside position, was very active and was a distraction for our defense and keeper. The assistant ref called it rightly, in my (red-spectacled, it may yet be) view. In any case, the only fair result on yesterday's performance was an Arsenal win; any thing else will be an aberration. COYG! While still retaining the focus, of course ;-)

Still some way to go and we have a couple of tricky fixtures, while Spurs have a relatively easier run in. Having said that, its been a fantastic performance to haul in a 10 pt gap. Let's hope this team can keep up the form for a few more games.

Good to win but Drenthe was onside. There were, once again, too many poor decisions form the ref and his team. Rosicky& RvP got at least two proper hacks each in the last 30mins with neither given.

The refereeing was really poor yesterday... the number of times Rocky got hacked (including the non-penalty) without a free-kick was shocking, the Drenthe goal, many of the offsides... dear oh dear. I thought the result was right, though - narrow Arsenal win. So luckily, the incompetence of the officials didn't make a difference to the final result today. It could have, though.

The linesman was shocking-he got 3 offsides wrong in a row, all went against Everton. If they were marginal calls, it would have been ok, but that was not the case.

Prits, to be fair, except for the Drenthe goal, the other call(s) were marginal as the replays showed. Sometimes, the refs show they are only human too. Anyone, who has a quick access to check the replay of the Drenthe goal again and confirm my view that Fellaini (I think it was) was active while in an off-side position ahead of Drenthe. I have seen goals ruled offside for this reason especially if the keeper could have been distracted. Hey! Keeper Roy Carrol once scooped the ball from about 5 yards over the goal line and it wasn't given against United. Not sure how many times Skysports news analyzed that incident. There have been worse decisions than this one. We move on to the next game.

Naija the linesman now waits until the ball is touched by the player before deciding if they are 'active'. Fellaini was way onside, I think you mean Jelavic who made the pass before the one to release Drenthe but even he did nothing in my opinion to constitute being active as the rules now stand. Yes worse things have happened but there were so many in this game, and things that affected both teams, that I just beggars belief that questions will not be asked.

Worse decisions have been made, so lets forget these poor decisions! I don't quite agree with that point of view. I don't think they were marginal calls, the players looked to be clearly onside to me. This is not about a Skysports analysis (bringing the Carrol example is bizarre and completely irrelevant) but about what we can see when watching the game.

For once a wrong decision went OUR way and we got the 3 points. It's the points that matter NOT the fashion of the win. Now lets focus on Villa

Oh! It is irrelevant to bring up one of the worst decisions you could ever see when so much is being made of a poor decision (or a string of them) in a game which is the subject of this thread. Now, that's bizzare.

No 10, well, I did think he (whoever it was...still to see a replay) made a move towards our goal keeper. I have seen a goal disallowed because the keeper looked to have been influenced by the movement of a player in an offside position and the ball didn't touch him. Maybe, that ref made another bad decision. I think the fuss is uncalled for, anyway, especially as it won't change anything.
