Who Is Your Player of the Season?

Who Is Your Player of the Season?

Season 2011-12 is now over, certainly as far as Arsenal are concerned. I still haven't made my mind up whether I consider the season to have been any kind of relative success. However, with all of our fixtures fulfilled, it is an apt time to start voting for your Arsenal Player of the Season.

For the first time I can remember, I think the top three candidates are something of a consensus amongst the Arsenal faithful, with places 2 & 3 only showing slight transposition. However, in the interests of democracy, we'll run the exercise anyway!

If you cast your eyes to the bottom right hand corner of the page, you will see a poll asking you to cast your vote for Player of the Season. We'll leave it a few days and the top 3 candidates inthe voting will all get a write up.

So, are you going to go with the obvious choice? 37 goals. Golden Boot winner. PFA Players and Football Writers' Player of the Year and 'one man team' Robin van Persie? Perhaps you think that Mikel Arteta's unfussy brand of freakish passing accuracy and Ken doll hair earns him the award? Or maybe you've become increasingly convinced that Koscielny is the best natural defender Arsenal have had since Sol Campbell?

Maybe your choice is more left field and you think Tomas Rosicky's resurrection is worthy of the ultimate commendation? It's possible that you think Marouane Chamakh, errr......has really nice hair.....

In any case, you get voting and I'll get writing! LD.

Though its bleedingly obvious, cant look beyond RVP for Player of the Season. The only time he played all our league games and hit the 30 league goal mark - both exceptional figures. Laurent Koscielny a worthy runner up. Mikel Arteta's understated but key contribution at number 3 and Alex Song's lion hearted efforts at number 4.

I've gone for Arteta. Simply because the guy was immense and once he got injured, we fell apart. We struggled offensively and defensively. His presence brought order to our game. Of course Robin van Persie goals helped ... but man, Arteta ... He is everything we've been missing all these years.

PS - Great choice of picture!

Arteta without a doubt for me. Defended, attacked, scored and knitted the entire team together. No did as much across the length and bredth of the pitch as he did. Oh and of course, le buffont!

To be honest Fulop played more of a role than Park.
