Sign For Arsenal Or Face a Lifetime Of Nagging Rob

Like most men, there are only two women in my life who can get me to do things when they want them done. My mum and my wife.

My wife can use "the glare", the cold shoulder or the threat to with hold certain privileges to get her way, whilst my mum`s continuous threats of a good old fashioned clip round the ear have been more than enough to keep me in check from childhood to well into my thirties.

With any luck, the same will be true in the van Persie household after Mrs van Persie and Mrs van Persie offered their opinions that Robin should stay at Arsenal.

His Misuses says the striker should repay the loyalty shown to by the club,

"'Arsenal showed faith in Robin when he was going through a lean time, so we should not repay them by thinking about other clubs.

'Our home life and our children are happy in London.'

Whilst his mum says that the adoration that our great club offers is a good a reason as any to stay,

"Arsenal love him and that`s a great incentive to stay. Arsenal are a fantastic club, They have no debts and Robin is idolised there."

van Persie, a self confessed mummy`s boy, should sign a new deal if he knows what`s good for him, because if I was only allowed to offer one piece of advice to my son, it would be to never piss off the women in his life.*

*That, or never become a Spurs fan!

His wife and mother talk sense. I've felt all along the RVP leaving would feel worse than Cesc because we've only just this last 18 month got the player we were all hoping if the injuries didn't hamper him.

Outrageous! Sounds like an infringement of your "Yuman riiiites" to me Rocky. To lose RVP after the way we've stood by him for 6 injury riddled seasons is surely something any decent human being would consider a moral obligation? Fan or not, I would consider that as something I have to do if I was in that situation.

If he was slightly younger I'd be inclined to agree SER, but given his age he owes it to himself to at least consider other options. I wouldn't hold it against him if he left .... though I might depending on who he chose to join :)

is that a very good innuendo, Mr Mustchin?
29/05/2012 12:21:00
ie. I hope it is - if t'wasn't intended as such, then shame on you!

Holy crap! Wingston! How the hell are you my good man?

I'm good dude, what about yourself? I know I've not been on here much for a good while, but still pop by now and then. You looking forward to sill season and everyone tearing their hair out over us not signing some bloke who the majority of people only know from youtube clips set to sh it emo/eurodance music, for £40m?

I’m sick to the back teeth with the “will he or won’t he” melodrama played out every summer. RvP knows that what he is doing is causing fans the very same distress that we endured with Viera, Henry, Fabregas and others. Whatever RvP wants to do he needs to tell us now so Arsene can get on with either sorting out the replacement or finding additions to the squad. He can’t be waiting to enhance his reputation in the Euros, it can’t get much better than it is, so what is it? Is it just a case of him waiting for the best possible deal to come in? If so then it would be utterly disrespectful to all of us, and whilst being financially understandable (although this is relative bearing in mind that he is already financially secure for life), I would struggle to accept it with any grace. If he wants to leave then he needs to confirm his intention right now, even if he doesn’t know his destination yet, so we can get on with our business. After all, it would show us the appropriate respect having spent most of his Arsenal career in the treatment room. The most damaging thing he could do to Arsenal Football Club is to dither and to milk the situation for his own benefit.
