M`Vila Likes Arsenal & The Premier League

As with any summer at Arsenal Football Club there are almost countless rumours in the press and on the internet linking us with players from all over the globe.

Very few of these rumours come to pass on account of them being utter bollocks, but every now and again a rumour appears to hold a little water.

The rumour linking us with Rennes midfielder, Yann M`Vila is not a new one, but it is one that refuses to go away, and the chance of that happening looks extremely remote after Yann expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, and in particular, Arsenal.

He said "I have heard Arsenal are interested in me. I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.

"I don`t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal."

With Lukas Podolski already signed, Olivier Giroud looking to follow and now the potential signing of Yann M`Vila, this would represent an excellent summer in the transfer window for Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looks to rebuild his Arsenal team and make them a force once again.

While Giroud's exit clause being set relatively low makes a possible transfer to Arsenal plausible, M'Vila's case seems less so. Can see him going to Chelsea to replace Essien - transfer fee 23 million!

That's what I'm afraid of. Chelsea or Citeh gazzumping the deal if we make a move.

Better to wait for those two to exhaust their gunpowder and conclude their transfer business before we start ours; unless it is a quick deal like Podolski's.

Agreed, I think we should stop making a fuss over him, if he wants to sign for us then great, but if turns into a bidding war (which his club are hoping for) then we stand no chance. After the last debacle with nasri, if we do sign him then we should put a BIG Buy out clause on the contract, as we all know man *****ty will be sniffing after a decent season or two with us. Don't know why we didn't have one when cesc renewed his contract. That way the vultures know what they have to pay. What's playing in our favour with mvilla, is that he picked up an injury and hasn't shown Europe what he can do yet.

Nice to see podolski bag a goal.

That's what he is about. The German team appears set up to set up chances for Gomez, so we couldn't see the best moves of Podolski. He will get many opportunities playing for us and will score plenty.

Great to see Poldi pick up a goal. He is really an unsung hero in that team and a vital cog. No doubt he will be a vital cog in our team and depending on the RVP situation, perhaps in time even the main man. Re M'Villa I think it basically comes down to this, if he gives a ***** about football and playing on a regular basis he will sign for us. If he just cares about collecting a large paycheck each week and isn't fussed about how often he plays, he will sign for Citeh or the Chavs.

David Ornstein, pretty reliable, said that he contacted the MVila camp. And that no Prem clubs have approached him so far. Only genuine interest has been from Italy. Im not sure why we are twiddling our thumbs

How do you know we are twiddling our thumbs Sajit? I'm sure Arsene and Grimandi know all about M'Vila - far more than us fans know. If he is worth it, a bid will be made but its an open secret that Rennes value him at over 20 million pounds and will not budge from that valuation for some time.

Were not twiddling anything, Its no secret that wenger tried to sign him in Jan. 20 plus million is an awful lot for a DM, that is why you dont see a que of teams lining up to sign him. If nobody else is willing to pay over the odds then why should we? Rennes are trying to get the most for their star man, but they need to get their head out of the clouds.

He is unproven too, really. I'd say 16m tops.
