90% Arsenal Player Dreams Of Premier League

Olivier Giroud has spoken for the first time about his upcoming move to Arsenal.

After quickly deleting a Tweet this weekend that simply said "Gunners", the Frenchman has spoken about how Arsenal will make his dreams come true.

'I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal, it is something that represents so much for me,' Giroud said

'I've always dreamed of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal are a great club with many French players.'

OT: I know one match means nothing , but M'Vila spent far too much time chasing shadows against Spain for my liking. If he really is as good as he is said out to be, I would have thought he would be doing better stuff. Having said that, I think stats showed that he was the only French player to have more completed passes than atleast one Spanish outfield player.

More OT: News on twitter that Dempsey for Ramsey on laon. Please no!!!

Wenger seems to be keen on fortifying our 'fire power' than our flanks. What's this? To be honest, I didn't see much in M'villa either but we all know how Spain can make the best players look like Nursery school kids.

I'm hearing stuff about marco reus......Arsene wenger has been purring over him during his input on the euro's. I would have him in a blink......anybody else heard any viable rumours? I know he has recently signed for Dortmund so it would be a very costly addition, but the thought of him linking up with the likes of poldi, giroud and potentially, robin is mouth watering, not to mention ox and jack. If, and it's a big if, wenger is after him, it seems as though the horrendous start of last season might not have been a bad thing. I honestly think wenger has turned a corner, and is looking for ruthless proven players of great quality to compliment the young squad we already have. I'm hoping giroud will give us something a bit different. Not only is a unit but he has finesse, and he can finish. I know a lot of gooners are comparing his potential to that of a certain chamakh but he has so much more to his game then just heading the ball. I think he will give as good as he gets, he is certainly no pushover. Will be interesting to see if wenger is thinking of using different formations, especially if robin stays......we will have so much more options. Just need to ship out park, bendtner, chamakh and vela. We will actually have players on the bench who can make a difference.

No way gunnerman.. Reus is Kagawa's replacement. But nice to hear such names being bandied about. :)

Wenger may have been engaging in a bit of sarcasm, considering that, as a Euro commentator, he should be able to give his opinions about a player without having to answer the question of whether he is scouting such a player or not.

On the issue of the number of options we could potentially have come next season, it can only bode well for squad depth. The competition for places will be intense and we are likely to have a few unhappy players on the bench, quite unlike those we currently have (who seem happy to accept they are 2nd best so long as they draw that pay check) as squad players. There are so many trophies to play for that, with smart rotation, Wenger can keep a lot of the players active.

The Giroud transfer is now official. Still rate M'Vila despite the Spain game. M'Vila is not a player who likes to be drawn too much out of position - he seemed very focused and calm despite the ball chasing that all teams have to do against Spain. His tackling was precise and his distribution was outstanding - a good mixture of short and long balls accurately delivered. For a 21 year old he seemed mature beyond his years and displayed good football intelligence. Would love it if an agreement can be reached with Rennes but seriously doubt if it will happen because 20 million pounds is not something AW will pay for a midfielder unless it is Goetze!

So looks like we have pulled out of the mvilla race coz of player behavior and off field incidents off the pitch.
sajit
Not sure, Sajit; after all, it is not as if that is the official position. However, I had noted that Wenger's "hints" have not suggested that he is interested in the player; plus, he felt the need to put out a denial last month.

If player behaviour off the pitch were an issue with the manager, a certain van Persie wouldn't be anywhere near this club. I think Wenger knows how to cause hot heads to become level headed. If I can point to something that is scaring him off the player, it would be the fee on his head. Too high for one so untested and so young.
Naijagunner
Was Giroud given a shirt number? The pics on the official site showed nothing.
Naijagunner
I'm thinking he might get the no 9. Agreed sajit, reus is a pipe dream for me. I would even have him over hazard. It is definitely the fee for m'vila that is the sticking point. Anything over 15 million is way too much in my opinion. He's a 21 year old DM who has potential yes, but you don't pay 20 million plus for potential. I think 12 million is more then reasonable, and maybe even some add ons such as; if we win the league or silverware...international caps etc...I would be more then willing to give Rennes an extra few million if we were to lift trophys with m'vila.
