The Rug Stays Under Our Feet As Giroud Signs

There are a few members of Vital Arsenal whose faces have been turning blue as they held their breath in anticipation of the signing of Olivier Giroud.

Rather understandably some Arsenal fans refuse to believe a player is coming to Arsenal until they see the player in the famous red and white (and horrible blue) Gunners shirt, I can`t really blame them after we`ve had the rug pulled out from under our feet so many times at the last minute when we`ve been looking forward to signing a shiny new player.

However the deal is now done, there`s pictures of the French striker in a lovely/rancid (score out which ever you feel is applicable) Arsenal shirt, the manager has spoken of his delight and the player can`t wait to get going.

So that`s two signings down, two rather encouraging singings might I add, let`s hope we don`t rest on our laurels and keep up this assault on the transfer market before the sheiks and oil barons decide to weigh in.

A midfielder and back up goalie to go with the signatures of RvP and Theo would really leave the feeling around the club massively positive going into the new season.

If Park leaves which could be likely, he could get the number 9. Off topic but have a feeling that a bid for M'Vila if it does at all happen will take place towards the end of the transfer window. At that time Rennes will find it difficult to keep a key player who clearly wants out before the start of a new season. Atleast thats what one hopes.

Yeah I think if the mvilla deal does go through, it will be a last minute deal....which opens us up to getting the rug pulled on that one. Just wait and see I guess. On a plus I think the priority in this window was getting in quality strikers.

Why do we need an central defender? Koscielny is one of the best in the league. Mertesacker and Vermaelen can battle it out for the spot next to him, and I challenge anyone to find a 4th choice centre back better than Djourou.

Yep I think it's safe to say we are covered at CB, maybe a fullback to cover sagna as I'm not sure about Henderson just yet. A back up keeper and DM and I'm very happy, anything more is a bonus.
