Campbell Voted Into Spurs' Best Premiership XI

With pre season in full flow and not a lot to talk about in the world of club football, club websites often run interactive supporter polls. You may recall that, three summers ago, Arsenal invited you to vote for the 50 Greatest Arsenal Players of All Time. Well, this summer, Tottenham have been asking for their fans to vote for their greatest XI of the Premier League era.

After voting Fatty Robinson their best keeper of the last twenty years, Kyle Walker and Benoit Assou Ekotto nabbed the full back positions in a shaky looking rearguard. But thankfully, now the votes for the centre half pairing have been counted, it looks like Tottenham have added some rigidity and credentials to their backline. Ledley King led the poll with 40.1% of the vote and he is partnered by Spurs Academy graduate and Arsenal Invincible Sol Campbell.

Understandably the Spurs official twitter feed has been a little sheepish about announcing the result. Nevertheless, we at Vital Arsenal congratulate Sol on being voted into Tottenham`s best defence of the last 20 years. I`m sure you`d be voted into an Arsenal one too…………

To be fair, he was outstanding for both Spurs and Arsenal, also rising to the occasion for England. Much like Terry, being a good center back doesn't mean being a good human being ;)
Tactically Challenge
Talk about making a rod for your own back.....lolz!

******** deleted the poll on facebook after Campbell overtook dead knees king as the best CB in their illustrious history.
Sajit
This makes me smile :)

He was brilliant for us b4 he became a money grabbing, judas, scumbag. At least you got good money and loyalty from Fabregas in similar circumstances. RVP on the other hand could do a Campbell ???

Brilliant. Childish but brilliant

I see Ruel Fox is a nominee for best right winger.

Sol Campbell would be the only Spurs player to get into a Spurs/Arsenal PL Alltime XI.
Rocky7
And rightly so aswell, he was fantastic at Spurs in a poor team. I'm struggling to find understand the tone of the article as its clearly a bit of a dig for some reason, it comes across as abit unneccesarily smug tbh. I think if anything it puts us fans as more savoury than you often make out on here. Also despite having good team for pretty much 20 years i'm not sure who won your left back vote but i'm pretty sure id prefer BAE over him!
HuddersfieldYiddo
Or was i watching a different Nigel Winterburn all those years? lol.
HuddersfieldYiddo
I think that the gist of this is that Arsenal fans cheekily hijacked a sp*rs facebook poll HY. Much as I'm sure you'd wish to find your own fans savoury lol this occasion wasn't it mate :)
nikolaijns
Ashley Cole and Nigel Winterburn over your BAE, any day!
Naijagunner
Why? Even Clichy will keep BAE on the reserve bench. Still, very hilarious stuff there.
Naijagunner
Ashley Cole, Nigel Winterburn, Sylvinho, Gael Clichy all better than BAE.
Rocky7
Gibbs is better than BAE. His tackle sent Sp*rs to Europa and got Harry fired. Name a Sp*rs LB who ever did that lol.
Sajit
Lol, Sajit.

Very true Sajit! Hope he can build on that and become a legend!

You guys forgot to mention the best left back in the world, Andre dos Santos
