Koscielny Signs New Deal

Koscielny Signs New Deal

At a time when so much uncertainty surrounds the futures of some of our most important players it`s nice to get some respite from all the doom and gloom.

This morning that respite comes in the form of Laurent Koscielny.

Following 2 increasingly impressive seasons, the French centre back has signed a new long term contract with the Gunners. In Koscielny, I believe we have one of the finest central defenders in England, if not Europe. Only Vincent Kompany matched Kos in terms of consistency and reliability last season. He was truly outstanding.

The Manager appeared to be almost delighted as I am that he has committed his future to the Arsenal. Speaking with the club`s official website he said,

'Laurent has been outstanding for us over the last two seasons. When you consider that until 2009 he was playing in Ligue 2 in France and that he is now performing at the very top level in the Premier League and for his country, the development that he has shown has been absolutely exceptional. Laurent is a top-class player and I am very pleased he has decided to commit his future to the Club.'

Koscielny himself was quite happy too 'I'm delighted to have reached agreement with the Club. I have had a fantastic time here and look forward to an exciting future with Arsenal.'

Grand news all round I think you`ll agree.

Koscielny is massively under rated despite having all the traits of a top central defender. Its only a matter of time before he is acknowledged as a master of his trade.

Just remind me why half the football writers and PL players decided the lumbering Skrtel was better than Kozzer?

The whole football world can think he is the worst defender ever to pull on the red and white for all I care. He is ours, now for a little longer and thats all that matters to me.
