Arsenal Announce Squad Numbers

Arsenal yesterday formally announced their squad numbers for the 2012-13 season. In the clearest indication yet that Robin van Persie is not longed for N5, Lukas Podolski is the only first team player unassigned as "TBC" on the club website. It`s all but certain he`s hanging on for the number 10 shirt. Impossibly handsome new striker Olivier Giroud takes number 12. Can he live up to the pressure of having Chris Wreh`s number? Francis Coquelin is upgraded from 39 to 22, suggesting his promotion in the manager`s eyes. Kyle Bartley takes number 35. Wojciech Szczesny is installed as number 1 in the wake of Almunia`s departure.

Maybe he's waiting for the number 9 shirt ....

Possible, but unlikely given Park is at the Olympics so we can't even begin to sort out shifting him until the season's already started. Don't think we'd have had too many qualms about just swapping Park's number for now in any case.
Little Dutch
I think Park should keep the no9. Hes ***** anyway so the no9 curse cannot have any affect on him.

Interesting times. City look like they wont be paying big bucks for RvP - according to their soundbites and Utd frankly dont have enough money to spend 20mi on a striker. So only real suitor for RvP could be Juve.. Now did Wenger order all those ice creams for us?
sajit
Oh I know, I was jut being silly, hasn' Podolski worn 10 at his previous clubs?
Rocky7
Why does Diaby have No. 2?
Sir Henry
When we signed him, it was either 2, 4 or 6. I think AW wanted to avoid giving him no.4 so as to stave off Vieira comparisons and because Cesc already had his beady eyes on it.
Little Dutch
What is Squillaci still doing with 18? That could have been given to Giroud and 12 to Coqelin. I see Coquelin playing RB for a long time, he just wouldn't accept it. Guys Whats up with Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh, Park and Mannone? they better f**c* off before we start booing them.
Arseniger
Apparently chamakh is not pleased that no one else is willing to pay his wages. ***** him.
Sajit
Good recall there, Sajit, on Wenger and his Ice creams :-)
