Terry To Miss Cup Final

Chelsea skipper John Terry will miss Sunday`s Carling Cup final after suffering damage to an ankle ligament in Chelsea`s 1-1 draw with Porto on Wednesday (snigger).

Terry has only recently returned after having keyhole surgery on his back but the centre-half lasted only 11 minutes against Porto in the Champions League.

He joins Boulahrouz, Robben, Joe Cole and Judas Cole on the injury list for Sunday`s game. No doubt that should Arsenal win on Sunday, despite having half a dozen kids on the pitch, Chelsea fans and Mourniho will play the injury card.

Let`s not get ahead of ourselves though Gooners.

Speaking after Chelsea`s match Maureen had this to say: 'We are not in an easy situation. I do not know when John Terry will be back, but I am cool about it.

'It is unbelievable because of the injuries we keep getting. We don't have Khalid Boulahrouz and we don't have John Terry. We have one central defender - Ricardo Carvalho.''

Well that`s what you get for letting Billy Gallas and Robert Huth go in the summer and not replacing them.

As a great man once said "I pity the fool".

Huth was slow, Arsenal will play with fast kids.He would be beaten easily.
At least you would have had 2 CBs!
Robben injured? I didn't know about that one. On an extra note, just football players in general, I don't like it when they get injured. Puts a damper on everything.
Who cares as long as we win :)
chelsea are short at the back. carvalho essien bridge and geremi will play at the back???
Let Maureen blame it on injuries when they lose - we all know he messed up with his transfers. On the other hand, can he possibly get even more arrogant when they win?
I dont care if Gavin Peacock and Mark Stein (those were Chelsea players b4 you had money for all you 'new' Chelski fans) play centre back I just wanna win!
Bonus for the Arsenal, but can you make it count.....
Where does one get information about the number of assists made; Would love to know who actually leads in assists; Rosicky, Cesc, Hleb, Adebayor, Henry? On topic. Arsenal will win 3 -1
Im sure its Cesc!
TeamSpirit, i think it's cesc who has most assists. And Robben injure? first I'd heard about that one... »»Arsene knows««
i belive we shud easily win...there defensive n 4 dat matter der entire team depends on it will be glory 4 us as our young guns lift da carling cup....
if robben and terry arent playing, it should make for an even contest even with our kids playing as they will also have to play more squad players as many of their first team stars are out injured. the game will be extremely competitive now, you can't pick one team as the favourate to win it, but my money is always on THE ARSENAL :)..
Awful shame about Terry though.:)
I see 2-1 to the Arsenal. A super sub (maybe Ade or Rosicky) to nick it at the death.
how long is he out? any danger of missing the qf against Spurs (2.5 weeks away) cos they are seriously vulnerable without him!

A pity, coz I would have liked us to have played a full strength chelsea team. It will be invaluable experience for the kids, though I fancy our chances. The CC team has shown us what they can do.
Slightly away from topic, but did anyone see the 1st goal by Porto last night? It was deflected, off Fat Frank into goal. Delicious irony is what i call it :).
I noticed that prits. Very funny. I was holding my breath in anticipation of Moaninho bemoaning their bad luck at conceding a deflected goal after the game:)
TeamSpirit, in the league Fabregas is top of the assists table with 10, Van Persie is the next Arsenal player with 6, Henry 5, Walcott 4, Eboue 3, Hleb 3, Adebayor 2, Flamini 2...etc These are just for the league though, if you want to see the full stats for the league just visit
Robben isn't thaaat injured. It's a small injury because he didn't warm up against porto.
k_chelski. u've gotta be kidding. what does 'he isnt thaaat injured' mean ? either he's fit to play on sunday, or he aint !! and he didnt warm up ?
yeah hatespur. funny wasnt it :). lets hope we see more of it - wouldnt it be awesome to see that this sunday?
A winning goal off Fat Frank's lardy behind would leave me laughing all the way back down the M4.
Thanks everyone for the info. I was called off by by boss so couldnt help been off... LOL
Prits, it means he could play.It wasn't a big injury. When terry got injured, we went down to ten men.Mourinho was going to put Mikel in.But, we conceded a goal.So Mourinho took a bold move, and sent robben to the game.HE didn't have time to warm up.He said At half time, he said he could try and go on.There is a chance we might see him at the final.
Robben can definitly play in the final. Apparently Lampard wasn't really fit the morning of the Porto game, but decided to push himself. Nasty thing to say, but I hope that he gets worse and can't play on Sunday. Their squad is so small, Maureen might name himself on the bench.
yep, k_chelski. Read the same thing on the match report as well. I found it strange that a player could start play without warming up, but i didnt know the circumstances behind it. Looks like Robben is going to play though, along with Cashley who played 60 mins for their reserves yesterday.
What reward for Bridges recent performances and loyalty. To be replaced by a money grabbing tit who hasnt really contributed anything for the club to date.
didt realise lumplard was responsible for the porto goal. Forgive me for chuckling... »»Arsene Knows««
A big miss for the money men......
I always liked bridgey. That goal in the champions league, will be forever in my mind.
