Arsenal Clo-Sahin On Nuri

"There`s no smoke without fire" goes the old adage, and in the case of Nuri Sahin to Arsenal, there`s a sky full of smoke.

Rumour has had it for much of the summer that Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in the Turkish midfielder on loan (possibly with an option to buy) from Real Madrid, and given the confirmation of Alex Song`s departure to Barcelona, the rumours have gathered much more pace this morning.

Despite interest from Liverpool (Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers served under Mourinho at Chelsea, seemingly giving him the, edge) it appears as though Sahin will opt for Arsene Wenger`s Arsenal.

John Cross of the Daily Mirror is one of the more competent journalists out there and has been in action on Twitter over the past day or so claiming the deal should be announced soon.

As Mr Cross points out, Sahin is a completely different player to Song so his signing might not mean the end to our transfer dealings or the French manager could be looking at an alternate set-up.

Whatever happens, Sahin is a player who I admire greatly and would love to see him in the famous red and white (and blue) of my beloved Gunners.

Apparently JC has also said the scum are interested in taking Chamakh on loan??
Thay would be the funniest piece of transfer business since Ol' Purple Nose sold us Silvestre.
If Chamakh goes to the spuddys none of my spud mates will ever talk to me again or so they say :) Sahin would be a good player to get and if we get M'Vila or another competent DM we will have had a very good summer regardless of RvP and Song leaving.
Latest report has it the Spuds may get M'villa. But then, we have heard of more incredible stuff lately;-)
The fact that Sahin was willing to hold out for us (pending the sale of Song) says a lot about the Manager's power of persuasion. Liverpool, clearly, wanted him but he made the choice, even as Mourinho wanted Liverpool's fees. Such a story gladdens the heart.
Am I right in thinking we need a 25-man squad? If so, we can't really have Sahin, a defender AND another midfielder like M'Vila, can we?
I love the boy already. I just hope we take him with an option to buy, I'll hate to have a situation where he'll excel with us over the season, and is then snapped up by one of the doped up, sugar daddy propelled clubs. We shouldn't accept to be Madrid's shop window
Gooner Vin we can sign as many players as we want. But we can only name the twenty five in the squad. If that means leaving out Chamakh, Squidworth,Benthner and Park then I cant think of a better way to convince them to take the next offer that comes along...
Rumour mill has it he'll report to the training ground at 4pm today after sealing the deal. Hope it's true.
That will be great news. I kind of like Cheick Tiote and his all-action style. He is bound to be a significant improvement on Song. Why can't we have Coquelin play at RB as a stop gap measure, along with Jenks. They need to start getting games or be shipped out if considered not good enough.
This is great news. I caught glimpses of Sahin in the Budesliga 2 seasons back and he was excellent for Dortmund. A good addition to our squad. It will be interesting to see what the formation will be, with Wenger saying that the 3 strikers did not work vs Sunderland.
Prits you hit the nail on the head. All of a sudden we have options, not just with rotating players, but with changing formations. A luxury we have been without for a very long time. Sahin, cazorla, wilshere, arteta, rosicky, ox, diaby....and that's just the middle of the park. Any of those as a midfield 3 would take some beating. The last time we had strength in depth like that was probably around the time of the invincibles. Could be an interesting season for us, especially as everyone is writing us off now post rvp and song. We always excel once written off. I just can't understand how the media do not see how much stronger our squad is compared to last season. Much of our run of form last season was without the need on rvp goals as they started to dry up towards the end of the season. One ignoramus at work asked me the other day "who the hell is cazorla?" I said you will find out soon enough......he was a Liverpool fan :)
Nice to note that am not the only one that thinks our team is stronger and more balanced than last season. I fealt that the problem with Saturdays game was that the team was a bit slow probably due to the fact that they had not had much time together. Once everyone beds in and can second guess each other then it would be a joy to see. Cannnot wait to see what the team make up would be for next weekends game. By the way why are the papers saying that Song had a go at Arsenal, to me it was just his agent trying to make more money by wanting to renew his contract every year.
@gunnerman A question for your liverpool pal "who is Assaidi?"
Daily Mail claiming that move back to Liverpool is back on as AW was playing hardball on wanting a 14 mil buyout clause whereas Liverpool are happy to return him after the loan expires. This is getting pretty tedious now and I want it concluded one way or the other. Apparently the boy got cold feet when he was told that we want a buyout clause as he has his heart set on eventually breaking into the Real Madrid first XI. Someone should explain to him that just because there is a buyout clause, doesn't mean he will be forced into signing for us.

Wow.. Another Mata tale.. ***** off. *****ing *****ed.

Theres a serious problem with the way we seem to be handling player contract negotiations. Another mess in the making.
