Arsenal Expand Youth Coaching Set Up

Arsenal have announced two new additions to their coaching team. With Steve Bould having been promoted from the U-18s to first team assistant manager, a vacancy had been left for the coaching of Arsenal's scholars. However, the club have announced that Pat Holland will take over from Bould. Holland has had spells coaching the youngsters at Leyton Orient, Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur. He has also held the Assistant Manager post at Millwall.

Holland will look after the club's scholars such as Jon Toral, Isaac Hayden and Jack Jebb as they look to push up into the Reserve team. Holland's U-18 side lost their opening fixture of the season 5-1 at Bolton Wanderers on Monday.

Holland is joined on the youth coaching side by Kwame Ampadu, who will take on the role of Youth Development coach, with Steve Gatting supporting him. Changes in the rules for club's youth teams now allows for a greater number of coaching hours, hence the expansion in staff to meet this demand. Ampadu actually came through Arsenal's academy in the late 1980s and he has managed Exeter City's U-18 side more recently. Liam Brady and David Court continue to oversee the Academy at a strategic level.

Best of luck to Pat and Kwame in their new roles.
