Lansbury Flies The Nest

Arsenal look set to shed a few players this week with the transfer window closing on Friday and the spring clean process has kicked off in earnest with Henri Lansbury on the cusp of a £1m move to Nottingham Forest. Lansbury has been with Arsenal since the age of 9 and has taken several loan spells to further his development. Scunthorpe United, Watford, Norwich City and West Ham United have all enlisted his services on a temporary basis over the last three years.

Reports suggest Lansbury travelled to Nottingham to agree terms over the weekend and the 21 year old midfielder tweeted "medical`s done" this afternoon. It is thought Forest will pay an initial £1m and will owe the Gunners a further £1m if Forest are promoted to the top flight in the next two years. He appeared for Arsenal a total of 5 times, scoring one goal at White Hart Lane against Tottenham in September 2010.

Fellow reserve mainstay Daniel Boateng has joined Oxford United on loan until January. Boateng had a loan spell at Swindon last year which didn't really go to plan. The 20 year old will further his education in League Two.

Sad to see one of the lads go...but, it is for the better and hopefully, he gets to play more often. He looked a talent at some point.

Kind of a shame. Had high hopes for him. Hope he is a success at Forest and we see him back in the EPL with them soon.
