Champions League Draw

Arsenal have drawn Schalke 04, Olympiacos and Montpellier in their Champions League group phase draw.

Arsenal faced the German side in the first group stage in 2001-02, beating them 3-2 at Highbury but losing a dead rubber in Deutschland 3-1. Olympiacos have met the Gunners in the group stage in 2009-10 and 2011-12 and are familair foes. Montpellier and Arsenal meet one another for the first time in the competition and new signing Olivier Giroud makes a quick return to his old home.

Arsenal have been drawn in Group B.

Not a bad draw, an eminently winnable draw. Come on you Gooners!

Not the worst draw we could have gotten. Look forward to see $hitty booted out at the group stage again:P

I reckon we should go through with Schalke. But it could take one bad night in Greece or Montpellier to scupper that so we cannot take this group lightly. Really do hope *****ty get dumped out at the group stage. Hopefully Real will do them home and away. Dortmund will also give them some tough games especially with the awesome squad they have now.

We can't complain about this draw (though the Arsenal site made it out to be a tough group); still nothing may be taken for granted. City will have their work cut out and should be stuffed over the 2 legs, by Madrid. Dortmund is a different kettle of fish, however. They seem to freeze on the big European nights in recent times.

About time Arsenal had a draw they should breeze through. I'm more worried we will get a big team in the last 16 :(
