Arsenal Draw Coventry in League Cup

Arsenal have been drawn at home to Coventry City in the 3rd Round of the League Cup. It's the 5th time in their last 6 draws that the Gunners have been drawn to play at home in the competition. League One Coventry haven't played in N5 since September 2000, when the Gunners beat them 3-0 with goals from Sylvain Wiltord and Paulo Vernazza. Nico Yennaris was mascot for that game and stands a good chance of playing this time around.

Coventry were however the last team to register a hat trick on Arsenal's home turf, when chunky funster Micky Quinn managed to single handedly dismantle Arsenal 3-0 in August 1993.

Tie will be played w/c 24th September.

This will be an opportunity for Squillaci and Johan Djourou to get game time. Throw in Nico Yennaris. Ramsey, Santos, Chamakh, Coquelin and Gervinho for good measure and we could have a very strong and hungry squad. Forgot Arshavin.
