Giroud Nervous But Not Concerned

Olivier Giroud says he needs to relax a little in front of goal after failing to get on the score sheet in his first three matches for Arsenal.

The Frenchman has missed a couple of sitters in his appearances for the Gunners so far this season and the striker attributes it to an attack of the nerves, though he stresses it`s nothing to worry about.

'I've been freezing up a little bit just when I've been about to pull trigger and that's exactly what happened in my first few matches for France,' Giroud told FIFA's official website.

'I'm not too worried about it, because I've been scoring in training and I feel pretty comfortable being a part of this team. I just need to not think about things too much, so that I feel as relaxed as possible when the time comes to stick the ball in the net.'

One or two Gooners have become ever so slightly concerned at Giroud`s misses this season. And whilst one would have expected him to tuck away the chances versus Sunderland and Liverpool, we must remember that both Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp took a couple of months to find the back of the net in an Arsenal shirt, so let`s not be too hasty to judge him.

When he missed that first sitter v Sunderland, it was easy to excuse it as being on his weaker right foot; the one v Liverpool was on his favored left foot, similar ball and he fluffed his lines. Still, I feel he will do well when he settles down to and will start burying such chances soon enough.
