Traore Has Clichy's Vote

Traore Has Clichy's Vote

Gael Clichy has offered Armand Traore his support ahead of Arsenal's clash with Chelsea this weekend.

Troare has impressed this season with a string of powerful display's down Arsenal's left side.

He came to Arsenal in the summer of 2005 from Monaco. He arrived as a centre back but Arsene Wenger soon saw his potential as a left back.

He's a very similar player to Clichy, energetic, fast and determined. Speaking of the 17-year-old, Clichy said: "Yes he had done well when he has come in. And I think he deserves to play against Chelsea.

"But if the boss wants me to play I will be more than happy.

'The Carling Cup Final is the Carling Cup Final and, when you are at Arsenal, you want to play every game.

"Perhaps it means more to me than others because I was away [injured] for a year. It would be amazing for me and if I have to play one more game this week then I will do my best."

Sounds to me like a "Play me" plea. And who can blame him. Who ever plays I will be happy.

I rate Traore but i think Lennon definetly skinned him a few times and he might struggle with the power of some of Chelsea's players, I think he still has a fair way to go before getting to Clichys level but they are scarily similair players. I dont care which one of them plays though, the cup doesnt mean that much to me. I want us to win but more so the youngin's can emberass Chelsea than so we can bring him the Milk Cup

I always knew that Clichy was a good player, but with him being out for so long i'd kinda forgotten how good. He's been excellent since coming back. Saying that I think Traore should start as we're playing our "kids". Really hope that Denilson gets a starting CM roll tho.

IMO Traore has the most work to do before breaking into the first team. Denilson has to play, he was a revelation.

Denilson has to play and i hope clichy will play as i don't think Traore can handle Drogba or Shev.

Troare might suffer the same against the likes of SWP but he has more than earned his starting place. The Clish shud definatley b on the bench tho as he is more greater threat on the wing, should we come to need it. I think Freddy will also b in the team sunday. And yes, deadly Denilson will most certainly have to start.

I would say: Almunia, Hoyte, Djourou, Toure, Traore, Walcott, Denilson, Diaby, Rosicky, Baptista, Aliadiere.

Me and my mates did a kind of competition thingy in Holland about the starting 16. I think it will be: Almunia, Hoyte, Toure, Djourou, Clichy; Hleb, Gilberto, Cesc, Aliadiere, Baptista, Adebayor. Subs: Senderos, Denilson, Poom, Rosicky, Walcott.

I hope Traore starts, and we can hope that he's learned a few lessons after spurs, when lennon ran circles around the kid. I think he's shown enough to merit a starting place.
