Gunners Get Royal Appointment

Following last night's 6-1 demolition of Coventry at Ashburton Grove, the draw for the 4th Round of the League Cup was made. Arsenal were the last team out of the hat with a short trip to Berkshire in wait.

The teams have twice met in the League Cup in the past, both times at Highbury. In October 1967 Peter Simpson's goal was enough to give the Gunners a 1-0 3rd Round victory. Whilst in November 2005, goals from van Persie, Reyes and Arturo Lupoli saw Arsenal run out comfortable 3-0 winners in the 4th round.

The match will be played at the Madejski Stadium in the week commencing 29th October, 2012.

Best draw we could have got I think. Away to a lower prem team that tryes to play football, a game that will give our second string a better workout than Coventry at home but still winneble if approached correctly.

We should be conscious though, that beating QPR at home would give the royals a surge of confidence that they may just be able to hurt us. A winnable game, I agree.
