Arsenal - Gibbs Out For 4-6 Weeks

It appears that the late signing of Spanish international, Nacho Monreal, could prove more crucial than first thought as Arsene Wenger reveals that Kieran Gibbs is likely to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

The young Englishman pulled up in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool midweek leaving the much maligned Andre Santos as our only proper left sidedbfull back, and even though that Brazilian might have to face Bayern Munich as Nacho is cup-tied (scary thought huh?).

Arsene delivered the bad news, 'I believe Gibbs will be out for the Champions League. I [cannot] play Monreal. Santos could have a key role'

I shudder to think of Santos against Arjen Robben or Frank Riberry. If he still has any modicum of respect for himself, the next two weeks should see him working hard on his fitness levels and speed of recovery. The rest will come back naturally.

Agreed. More likely that we'll use three central defenders (TV5 at LB) on the day though, eh?

What the...?How did Santos get that bad after a not-so-bad start? damiano, so are you thinking 3-5-2, with Santos relieved of formal defensive duties?

It's Gibbs. How was he going to be out for anything less than 6 weeks? We probably won't see him until August !
