'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hit By One Of Life's Curve Balls

The shocking events of the past 24 hours the world over have gone some way to show just how unpredictable life can be.

The tragic death of Reeva Steenkamp as she was murdered/shot in a tragic accident by her boyfriend and Olympic sensation, Oscar Pistrious, was quickly followed up with the arrest of long term Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell as he was charged with various sexual offences he alleged committed against children.

If that`s not enough, more than 500 people were injured as a meteor shower hit in central Russia blowing out thousands of windows showing people with glass causing many cuts and bruises.

Life can be crazy.

It was one of life`s curve balls that has kept me from Vital Arsenal over the past week or two, and is the reason for the distinct lack of content in our little community.

Once you've read this article I hope you can understand why.

A little over three weeks ago, I received a call from my mum saying my uncle had been diagnosed with cancer of the liver, bowels and bones. A short time layer and another phone call with the sad news that my uncle`s cancer was terminal.

Over the next couple of weeks my uncle`s condition deteriorated at a rapid pace until sadly he passed away last Saturday at the tender age of 54, leaving behind his 12 year old daughter.

Needless to say, being a close family we`ve all rallied round to console one another, and the funeral is arranged for next week.

Of course, in my absence, life has carried on regardless, as has our season, so it`s time to get back on the horse and ensure our Vital Arsenal members have much to read and discuss.

I hope you`ve all been well.

-----

Following the diagnosis of my uncle`s cancer I had decided to run the Leeds Half Marathon in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care fund.
If you can spare a pound or two for this most excellent cause, please sponsor me in my efforts to bring a little light out of my family`s darkness.
