Walcott: I Could Have Joined Chelsea

Arsenal's Theo Walcott says he could have joined Chelsea after being a ball boy for the Chavski's.

The Arsenal starlet revealed his seedy past in a pre-league cup final interview.

'There was always a chance I could have gone to Chelsea, but then it was always going to be Southampton,' he said.

'I was 10 going on 11 when I was a ball-boy there. I only started playing football late. I was playing in Jersey and their scouts were there. They invited me to come down for the Liverpool match because I was a Liverpool fan.'

"I remember Liverpool lost 2-0 and I didn`t get a touch of the ball but at least I got to watch it. And I met some of the players - Robbie Fowler and Michael Owen - afterwards in the dressing room. It`s funny because when I went to the World Cup I showed Michael a picture of it.

"But I was more interested in the Academy then to be honest. At a young age you just want to play football. It was always going to be Southampton."

Maybe when Theo had the chance to join Chelsea in the transfer window when he signed for Arsenal, he looked back to his time as a Chelsea ball boy and remembered that he never got to touch the ball, and realised that would probably be the case again.

He could of joined them but he failed the initiation test of swerving a bentley round a stacked up piles of 50's.

Theo is an intelligent young boy, having seen SWPs career hit the skids, he knew that was a path to avoid. With us he has a bright future, as a chav he'd have 3 or 4 chances to impress then its a season or two of benchwarming.
