Mannone Joins Sunderland
Arsenal reserve goalkeeper Vito Mannone has joined Sunderland for an undisclosed fee. He joins the Northeast club to provide competition with Keiran Westwood for their number 1 jersey in light of the departure of Simon Mignolet to Liverpool.
Mannone played 13 times for Arsenal last season, appearing for the first team a total of 23 times. He also spent two loan stints at Hull City and one at Barnsley since he joined from Atalanta in 2005.
Meanwhile, Zac Fagan and Anthony Jeffrey have signed their first professional contracts with the club, with Zak Ansah signing a new deal. Nicklas Bendtner is rumoured to be close to a switch to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
