Arteta: It's About Time Club Splashed The Cash

Arteta: It's About Time Club Splashed The Cash

Arsenal vice-captain (probably captain once the season starts) Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal are poised to start splashing the cash, and not before time too!

The Spanish midfielder was talking ahead of becoming the first Premier League team ever to appear in Vietnam, and amidst rumours the Gunners were pushing hard to sign Liverpool`s Luis Suarez.

He believes now is the time to spend big on big players …. And I don`t think he`s going to get many people arguing with him.

The Daily Mail quote Arteta as saying "It is about time` his club looked to splash the cash.

"The club have said they are going to be very ambitious in the market and have got the financial resources to get big players. I think it`s about time. When you compare us to other top English clubs and the money they have paid, we are very far apart. "

"The value of this club is the class and what it means is very difficult to match. Now, financially, they are very strong so maybe we will be more aggressive in the transfer market. Big signings create a good atmosphere and we need to do something because other teams are doing it and I think we will."

I like Arteta, master of the bloody obvious. I've been enjoying the sunshine for a while now & long may it continue. Still no Iconoclastic news, so not posted for a while. Back to hibernation for me.

I actually things are about to start picking up, clubs are begining to make big money moves and I think once the first player goes it'll be a steady stream of moves.

Hey Rocky! I guess so, it's inevitable really. The longer it goes on the more duped we get. The only highlight so far for me has been the fans in the far east.

Given the number of players who have expressed such sentiments, and the number who think we will challenge for the title this year, it is possible that Wenger has told them a bit more about his aspirations in the player market. Of course, they might just check NewsNow on their phones and get excited like the rest of us, but something just feels different this year. No need to worry about no early signings - either we will be pleasantly surprised or have the last glimmer of trust in AW et al beaten out of us for good.

I don't think we will challenge this year as the lack of early business speaks volumes. Would love to be proved wrong though but I just can't see anything beyond a struggle for 4th again. Bridesmaids revisited I'm afraid.

Yep, Bradysleftpeg. How was the "Running man", as moderated by Szczesny, video for a Highlight? Hilarious when the lads started to sing 'sign him up'.

The "Running man" video, that is. That was something for them to remember.

I just can't get my hopes up ...i feel like i'm in high school and just know my girlfriend is going to break up with me, just waiting for it to happen. Inevitable dissapointment looms...

FuiKaka, it might have ended differently if you hadn't boasted about your bank account and taken her to McDonalds for a date.
