Kolo Toure: I'm Sorry

Arsenal centre back Kolo Toure has apologised for his sending off in Sunday's League Cup Final.

Toure was incensed at the time wasting antics of Chelsea's Obi Mikel and went ballistic at the player, and saw red as a result.

"I apologise for this moment," said Toure afterwards. "I regret my actions.

"Chelsea were winning and were starting to waste time. I was not happy with that, which is why I went to Mikel and had some words with him.'

"When they look at the tape, they will see I have done nothing wrong. I have had a lot of games, but do not choose to do that type of thing.'

"The people who run football know who is bad and they know that I am always trying to do my best for the Club, the team and the fans as well.'

"It can happen to anybody, though. You can make a mistake in any job, or do something bad. That is why you need to apologise, which I have done. You do not need to make it bigger."

I personally don't belive Toure did anything to warrant a red card, and will not recieve any further punishment over the 3 games he will already miss.

I can imagine Ade having his red rescinded, but also Eboue picking up quite a hefty ban for the Bridge scuffle. That's not too bad as I think we'd miss Ade far more than Manu. Manu's a good layer, but is too prone to diving and way too hot headed. He really needs to keep himself in check

I have a lot of respect for Kolo and was surprised to see him blow up like that for a little shirt pull. Onwards and upwards.

Alot of people feel the same way West1. He's a humble fellow who's religeon see's him grateful for everything he has. He's not dirty and goes about his business in a quiet fashion. And he does all this whilst being one of the best in Europe. So out of character, I guess football brings out the worst in us all aswell as the best!

Arsenal you are a disgrace. This isn't the first time and it won't be the last time that you guys end up fighting in a football match. Your attitude, discipline and track record go before you. I hope the FA ban the lot of you from the competition for a season to teach you that you can't carry on like this in a game. Your antics over the last few seasons are going to catch up with you. Your managers attitude to the game sucks. Every week is the same story. Bad refs, undeserved results, teams that dont lie down and let you win. He's the problem why you guys let it rip on the pitch. You are all wound up so tight it was only time before you cracked- AGAIN. Its arrogance at it's worst. You as a club have absolutely no respect for anything else in the league. Teams, players, competitions. They all take second place to Arsenal.I hope they throw the book at you. It's all you deserve. Arsenal can whine and moan all they like. Drogbas goals were, as usual terrific, OFFSIDE. (Not) It's only ever offside when it happens to be a goal scored against you, but that's the problem with Arsenal and their fans full stop. They either never see it or it wasn't their fault they lost. The rules state that if there is any doubt as to weather the player is offside then the decision goes in favour of the attacker, drogba was level when the ball was played and for once the lineo got it spot on, Arsenal should learn to lose as gracefully as they win, especially Wenger. Adebayor should be banned from the game forever, his threatening behaviour towards both Chelseas players and the match officials was nothing short of dispicable. Chelsea looked more purposeful than Arsenal and showed Wenger and his big headed boys they really aren't as good as the hype suggests they are, well done Chelsea. Go Blues!

Stop posting your dirty protest all over the site A4E. Its hard not to notice all the spelling mistakes and the way you are advertising your poor education on every article is sad.

one that talks about losing gracefully when he can't even win gracefully, says everything really when you consider the spirits we are in, then look at this pillock whose team won yet he feels angry and hollow inside because he wanted to win playing like we do and not like the long ball hoof merchants they predominantly are (Robben withstanding) he wants em to be Brazil but has to make do with Germany.

and yes, as stated westl, Kolo's a humble guy. One of the folk i was watching the final with, a west ham fan, said that he was out of order, i explained to her that it was so out of character for him to do that, he's always a very honest guy, and not in any way shape or form violent. Pleased to see that none of you guys have flung any mud about because of that. less classy fans would have (spuds). »»Arsene Knows««

I saw a youtube clip of him yesterday. It was probably from a while ago, and the man is just true, true class. He knows more than anyone that his actions were wrong, and he apologized. He's a great role model for the younger gunners and will continue to be. Btw, if anyone's interested, here's the link - - the favorite computer game part is hilarious. xd

Agree with iceman Kolo was just over reacting but Eboue seems to have a bit of an attitude problem.

it ain't a attitude problem or anything. he was just standing up for his team mates just how any player would. and bridge made a meal of whatever contact that was there..

Interestingly The Independant has done a frame by frame dissection of the melee, and found clear evidence that Drogba and Essien also threw punches, which means they too could face three game bans. - - But hey, it's only the Gooners who act this way...right?

thats right coz essien has always been a clean player never going in a tackle over the ball, and ballack never leaves the boot in,carvaliho...never checks players run,or pulls then back, drogba and robben always stays on their feet,do i sound delusional?

At least the boy has had the decency to realise he was wrong and has apologised. If it's out of character then he should be forgiven.
