Podolski: It's Good To Be Back

Lukas Podolski returned to action on Boxing Day after a 4 month lay-off and the German forward made an instant impact adding drive and attacking intent to our and eventually bagging himself a goal.

Needless to say, Lukas is ecstatic to be back and is looking forward to helping the team challenge for the title over the next 5 months.

Speaking with Arsenal.com he said "I have been out for a long time, four months, so it was not easy, I have never had a muscle injury before so it was a new experience. It was a hamstring injury and they take a long time [to recover from].

"Every morning you come in, you have treatment, you work hard to get fit while the others are working outside. It is not easy for the head.

"When you sit on the bench or on the couch at home, it is not easy to watch. You don`t have the feeling [of truly being] with the team and in the dressing room. But that is the way it is in football, so I am all the more happy to be back.

"It was important we got the three points here because the last few matches we drew or lost and you`re always happy when you get an assist or score a goal.

"I remember last season we had a lot of injuries and a lot of problems. Now we have only one or two, so it`s good. We have the three points and it was a derby, so it was good for the fans.

"Every match is important now, every match is about three points - we are top and we want to stay there. It is not easy because there are five or six teams who are all strong this season, but we have a strong team and we will fight."

Podolski should be an important player in the 2nd half of the season. It's good to have him back.
Amos.
It is players with a positive aura, as Podolski (Merts, Kos, Szczesny and Rosicky, being a few of the others) who will be useful to the club as we enter a difficult run in the 2nd half of the season. Whether playing or on the bench, he just exudes positive vibes. Giroud has suggested we don't have to buy a striker with Poldi and Theo about; so, is that a striker seeking his own or could it be something he's seen on the training ground?

Hello, hello

Podolski is easily our most clinical finisher. Looking forward to seeing him get back to his best (hopefully)

If only he could hold up the ball, he'd be a shoe in for giroud's backup . He has a very lethal left foot and isn't afraid to use it.

Isn't the MoTM poll to the right of the site a bit stale now? Who is responsible for updates here?
