Match Discussion - Spurs FA Cup 3rd Round (h)

The FA Cup 3rd round has always been my favourite part of the footballing calendar, however this year, normally a joyous occasion, the 3rd round has turned into a much more tense affair after we drew our North London neighbours Tottenham in the draw in December.

North London derbies are rarely, if ever, fun, in fact the only joy you can ever get out of these games is the p*ss-taking that ensues after a good NLD victory (or Cesc Fabregas waltzing through the Spurs defence to score about 10 seconds after they kick off).

With a hectic (and successful) Christmas period almost behind us, Arsene Wenger might just tinker with the line-up a little, though the reality is he`ll probably be forced into it after suffering a few injuries to key players.

It`s likely we`ll enter the fixture without Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Nicklas Bendtner on top of the other long term injuries, so some shuffling will be made out of necessity.

Are you looking forward to the game? Can Tottenham claim victory on our patch? Will Adebayor get a good reception? I suspect the answer to all those questions will be no, but you can discuss them anyway in our Vital Arsenal match discussion thread that you can find by clicking here.

SECOND!!

Wait, second what?

2nd is what Arsenal will be on the day. We'll get you back to the lane at least. You lot had your struggles against Harrys' side, and he couldn't win at OT. We had to wait for AVB to do that. Sherwood is looking better than both of them. You're on the slide. Lucky to beat Cardiff, ffs. Yet again, you'll win nothing, despite spending over 40m on one player. COYS!
jerkinmahjurgen
Yet another spud predicting world domination after a win and Sherwood is now the latest in a long line of messiahs all of which were ready to lead them back to those long distant glory days. Does any club have more deluded supporters?
Amos.
Spuddies come out top in yesterdays battle for Europa league qualification and the dribbling lunatic returns again. With a different username, but spouting the same deluded rubbish for the umpteenth time. It's quite sad and pitiful.. a bit like watching a mad man gnawing at his own arm in the corner of the room. Also check out the spuddies goal difference after 20 games.... -1. Truly shocking stuff after spending over 100m on new players. They should really be near the bottom if it wasn't for all the dodgy penalties they have been given. LOL
bowiecokemirror
It really is remarkable. In my limited experience, this is the fifth consecutive 'greatest manager of all time' to manage Spurs, and about the tenth season were 'Spurs are now destined to finish above Arsenal' and the 'balance of power in North London has shifted' (ugh). Seriously, Spurs fans; get a grip of yourselves!
damiano_tommassi
Not me. Didn't want AVB. Didn't want Deadcrap tbh but he won me over before getting deservedly sacked. Have to go all the way back to Venables, really, last proven manager we hired. Arsenal have surprised everyone this season, I think (and your league chances will increase once we've booted you out the cup), but I'm not convinced you'll keep it up. You've only got one team. Got the depth of a shadow. And how much longer before Wenger goes, and you're in Uniteds' boat? Sherwood of Tottenhams' Lilywhite Army!
jerkinmahjurgen
Well that answers that question then (as though there were ever any doubt!) nobody has more deluded supporters than the spuds.
Amos.
This is trolling of the lowest possible quality.

I haven't completed my trolling badges yet. In my defence, I can only troll what's in front of me... Catch you on Saturday. x

LOL

Troll-tastic. Can't wait for the game i'll be in attendance so it'll be a fair few plastic cup pints before and after We're the north bank!
Nwankwo25
Shhhhhhhhhh!
jerkinmahjurgen
Depth of a shadow? Lol. Every one of our subs would walk into the Spurs starting line up. There isn't even any point in doing that ridiculous "mixed starting XI" you boys come up with before every NLD, because there is not one single player who could oust one of our players. Not one.
Rocky7
Great picture on top of the article. Remember THAT you trolls?

If he plays Podoslki up front again then we're in serious trouble, he's not suited there at all and him being out injured hasn't made him suitable for that position since last season (when it didn't work) either. Gonna need to bandage up Giroud i think
shewore
Is that SpursOneTwo back again under a new username? Ahh bless him, we've missed you One2. Watch him disappear again come about 7pm on Saturday evening.

Giroud is out ill SW, not injured. I'd play Theo through the middle with Podolski and Gnabry out wide. Arteta, Flamini and Cazorla through the middle, with Sagna, Kos, BFG and Monreal at the back.
Rocky7
Sorry to crash your site, but we still haven't got a thread for this one on VS. So, is that injury list for real? If so that could make things interesting. Although, despite a couple of wins I think the mighty Spurs look disorganised and tired, especially in defence, which is by far our biggest worry. If Sherwood wants to change his side around he can only do so in attacking positions, as almost all our injuries are in defensive positions. Seeing as we've started scoring goals now, and Tim is new to this game, I think that unlikely. The result at OT was great, and they worked very hard for it, but that game could have gone either way and Utd are hardly consistent or confident, which I suspect you lot are! Lets hope it's more exciting than the last time we met. That was dull!
