Arsenal at Home to Coventry in FA Cup 4th Round

After giving Tottenham a right good seeing to yesterday the Gunners entered the hat for today`s draw for the fourth round.

The mighty Gunners had a right old knees up at The Grove last night in what was probably the most enjoyable North London derby in years. There were so many picture book moments within the game that you would be hard pushed to find a Gooner who didn`t wake up this morning with a huge smile on his/her face.

However that is now all in the past (until you encounter a Spurs fan of course) and we can focus on the next round, in which bizarrely there are no all Premier League matches (unless Chelsea beat Derby).

We now know that we got a nice draw with a home tie against Coventry City that will take place on 25/26 January.

Draw in full:

Sheffield United v Norwich or Fulham
Birmingham or Bristol Rovers or Crawley v Manchester United or Swansea
Bournemouth or Burton v Liverpool or Oldham
Blackburn or Manchester City v Bristol City or Watford
Derby or Chelsea v Stoke
Wigan or MK Dons v Crystal Palace
Stevenage v Everton
Arsenal v Coventry
Rochdale v Macclesfield or Sheffield Wednesday
Southend v Hull City
Nottingham Forest v Ipswich or Preston
Port Vale or Plymouth v Brighton
Huddersfield v Charlton or Oxford
Southampton v Yeovil
Bolton v Cardiff
Sunderland or Carlisle v Kiddrminister or Peterborough

Should be a tougher fixture than Sp*rs
Sajit
Playing against the Holloway Rd Under 5s would have offered a tougher challenge.

This is a great draw though. Just perfect, no travel, can rest a few tired legs. Bootiful.
Rocky7
Couldn't be happier with the draw, rest a few legs, give a couple of the youngsters a chance too and give our new striker and centre back a run out! (But that is unlikely!) Lol
Itsup4grabsnow
Just one question. how dafuq did we lose to this United team.. Dropped points.
Sajit
Agree with you there, Sajit. Dropped points. Like we say an Persie and froze, playing tentatively. Of course, I recall that we had a few sick and injured/ suspended for that game, but you feel we should have gone for the 3 points. Nice draw. Bring it on!

NEVER UNDER-ESTIMATE A LOWER LEAGUE TEAM!

A home draw too. Not bad.

Nice draw for me I'm happy with that... COYG

Although I agree you should never underestimate your opponants, I dont think playing one or two (maybe three or four) of TV, Jenks, Gnabry, Ryo, Nacho, or Zelalem will weeken our team sufficiently to fear a loss. I wouldn't want to see a front four of Zelalem, Ryo, Gnabry & Bendtner/Poldi, but put two of Santi, Ramsey Ox, Rocky, Özil, Wilshere, Walcott in there and I'd still be confident.

*saw van Persie*. No one is even underestimating Coventry; just appreciate that it is a Home game, against an opponent we can afford to rest key players against and still look to qualify. The fixture date is such that we would be entering a challenging month so tired legs is something we would be keen to avoid.
Naijagunner
Provided we are not over confident.

I'm content with that draw too. Based on our CL group and knockout round draws and 3rd round FA Cup draw, I was convinced we were going to get Chelski away! Totally agree with you, Sajit. As much as I'm enjoying all the mirth and merrymaking at ManU's expense, it's a matter of no small embarrassment that we contrived to lose to that lot! CRINGE!

*omitted Capital One cup draw we had too.

It needs to be said that at United, we lost to a lucky shoulder goal from the one who shall not be named and he has been subsequently absent from United's subsequent embarassing defeats. Although we played very very badly on the day, we would have atleast drawn the game if RvP was out injured.
Deltaforce
That Man U game is an anomaly. We had a few players out with illness and a few players out on the pitch with illness too. We still had a lot of players out injured and we we got caught out at a set piece. Can't wait to play them again!

Good draw, just annoying that it's gonna cost me the same to go to as Bayern at home.
shewore
Another draw against a small team! Not that they should be underestimated, still I expect a few players to be rested although the upcoming games are a bit more spaced out until we play Liverpool. Its a shame that Walcotts out but like I say not the hardest few games coming up.
