Rosicky Highlights Discipline In Win Over Spurs
Tomas Rosicky has highlighted Arsenal`s collective and tactical discipline as one of the dominating factors behind Arsenal`s fantastic 2-0 victory over the old enemy at The Grove yesterday.
Rosicky, who is having an exemplary season, found himself on the score sheet after dispossessing Danny Rose on the halfway line and racing … yes racing … 40 yards before coolly lifting the ball over the Spurs keeper despite the attentions of Kyle Walker.
It was this desire and pressing all over the park for the whole 90 minutes that helped Arsenal ease … yes ease … past Spurs into the 4th round.
Speaking with the club`s official website, Rosicky said "Collectively and tactically we were disciplined, in these type of games it is important not to make a mistake and we always have the quality to score goals."
'I think there are still things where we can improve a bit tactically but obviously we won such an important game for us and the fans so it was a great."
"When I play in the [No 10] position, I try to put the opponents under pressure and it paid off for me this time. I went there and took the ball and went through on goal."
'It's my first of the season and against our main rivals so it's good."
'You can see the players fighting for each other, that sometimes wasn`t there in the past. It`s very important to build something like that with your team-mates.'
