Team News: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal face Crystal Palace this evening in a pivotal game that could see us move back to the top of the Premier League.

Tony "The Slaphead" Pulis brings his team to The Grove in what could be a crucial 90 minutes.

Lukas Podolski gets a rare start whilst The Ox seemingly starts through the middle.

Here`s the line-up for the big game.

Arsenal team to play Palace: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud

Arsenal subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Gibbs, Rosicky, Zelalem, Gnabry, Bendtner

Other than Rosicky being on the bench about what we have to put up in order to win the game. Regardless of what many think of Monreal, the manager has preferred him over a fit Gibbs, perhaps because he looks a more assured presence in offensive play. He is deliberate in what he does when overlapping and, well, he needs the confidence of the manager to keep improve in this league.

Good to see Poldi start. Hope he justifies my preference.

We need an early goal to force crystal palace to move their packed bus.

This would set up a very tense 2nd half, if we fail to score in the 1st.

Arsenal does know. Podolski is able to find more shooting space against not so defensive sides or when brought on as a sub, when defenders are tiring a bit and tactics get thrown aboard for a little adventurism. He has to be allowed to move in to support Giroud more and shoot at every opportunity. It is not as if Palace are doing a good job of "parking the bus" but just our failure to shoot more often; I saw a couple of such but we chose to pass and pass.

Wenger needs to earn his money, this performance is very flat. Game needs rosicky to change the pace and direction of the ball.

*Arsene does know*. Good goal by the Ox and well worked variation for unlocking packed defences. We need to see what they bring on before making our own changes but it should help to turn on the screws now; of course ensuring we get the 3 points is always better.

Oh well. What do I know. Poldi had little impact really. Looked better with Rosicky on.

Good performance really considering the size of the bus. Wenger changed up what he needed to at half time and it worked very well. From a defensive standpoint thats 1 goal conceded in 10 home games and considering how awesome Kos and BFG have been that's no great surprise.

02/02/2014 18:08:00, a 6th consecutive clean sheet at home. Massive!

Yet, it is common to hear pundits go "you know the Arsenal defence would always give you a chance". Myth.

Ridiculous en you think about some of the defensive gaffs we've had in the past. Performance was a bit flat, can't complain about a win really though!

Some form of mustard gas attack at the Ethiad tomorrow?

So much for playing poldi for his shooting ability. Great game by the boys especially the second half. Szczesny is undisputed best keeper in the BPL this season.
