'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wenger Gives Mourinho a Lesson In Class

Arsene Wenger says he`s more embarrassed for Chelsea than he is for himself after the mind games with the Portuguese egotist continued in earnest this weekend.

Mourinho labelled Arsenal`s French manager a "specialist in failure" after Wenger suggested managers kept ruling their side out of the title race (when they are clearly in with a chance) because they`re getting in their excuses ahead of time.

However, after being asked to respond to those allegations following the 2-1 FA Cup win over Liverpool, Wenger simply said he was embarrassed for him.

'I am embarrassed for him, honestly." Said Wenger

'First of all I would say that I didn't speak about him at all in my press conference, and I have no more to say... I am more disappointed for Chelsea than for me."

'I am not interested in the subject at all, and that is really genuine. If you are interested, and you have nothing better to do in your life, you are free to do it."

'But honestly, I cannot force my interest in things that are not interesting for me. I love football and I'm sorry to disappoint you, but what interests me is what happens on the pitch.'

Some of the journos would have been disappointed. Wenger showed just how classless many of them have been in fostering this 'conflict' too though ultimately it is to Jose's embarrassment that he was gullible enough to take the bait.

Quotes and behaviour like this make me so happy, as an Arsenal fan. To be represented by AW makes me proud; to be represented by Mourinho (or John Terry - ick!) would definitely leave me feeling uncomfortable. Horrible little oiks.

the most embarrassing entity in this relative non starter of an issue are the Arsenal Fans, rushing to defend someone who simply articulated what you have been quietly thinking these past 8 years. Mourinho is a winner, Wenger is not. If there is no trophy this year for the gunners, then Arsene would have been at the club for 18 years next season, 50% of which he would have underachieved.
Gian-Franco/Luca
Not sure that anyone is rushing to 'defend' Mourinho for articulating anything here as you claim Luca but your confusion is pretty typical of the embarrassment chavs are heaping on themselves. Nobody here is quietly thinking we haven't won anything for 8 years we all know it. Just as we know that whether it's Mourinho, Hiddink, Ancelotti, Di Matteo, Benitez the trophies you have 'won' in the last 8 years were all 'won' by Abramovich. He has bought you your success. The managers don't really matter that much.
Amos.
if it wasn`t for the investments at Chelsea and Manchester City, we would have a stale, boring Premier league over the last 10 years. Which would have only suited Arsenal and Man U. Thank god that wasn`t the case.
