Koscielny Is Your Man Of The Match vs Spurs

The latest Vital Arsenal poll asked your opinion on who you thought was our man of the match in the win over Spurs.

Well the polling stations have closed and the votes are in & have been counted, and it should come as little surprise that in a performance noted for it`s defensive stability rather than attacking prowess that it is a defender who won your affections.

It should also come as no surprise that in a year when our Mertcielny partnership has become on of the best centre back pairings in Europe that it was one half of this duo that dominated the game from almost start to finish.

Laurent Koscielny`s performance to nullify the Spurs attack was a battling on of epic performance. Winning header after header, reading the game superbly and making a couple of masterful interventions to deny Adebayor and Chadli, the Frenchman really epitomised this new look Arsenal defence.

Confidence, composure, hard graft and team work.

I don`t think it`s any coincidence that the other two players to occupy the top three of our poll are the other half of the Koscisacker partnership and the scorer of the winning goal.

Poll results:

Szczesny 4%
Sagna 3%
Koscielny 61%
BFG 21%
Arteta 1%
Rosicky 7%
The Ox 3%

Our newest poll asks what you think the result of Saturday`s crucial game will be.

A season or two back and you'll have found plenty of Koscielny is rubbish and will never be good enough for Arsenal articles too. Zeros can become Heros and vice versa very quickly in football.

I've always been a big fan of Kos (Smugness engaged), I remember doing a Q&A with Vital Spurs before a NLD a couple of season ago where they asked about Kos and I said he was a genuine world class centre back and I was laughed off their boards .... Verthongen was apparently a million times better. It's not often that I'm right but when I am I'm smug as f***.

It's not the easiest task keeping Adebayor, nay, some of the best forwards around quiet. That's what Kos does very well, alongside the BFG. There is an assurance his play gives fans. He only needs to cut out the rash challenges (Refs are usually conned. To be honest) in his area. His penalties conceded stat must be close to double digits for us.
