FA On Wenger's Back...Again

FA On Wenger's Back...Again

Arsene Wenger has been asked to explain his comments about the match report made by the linesman after the League Cup Final brawl.

It was claimed that the lineo reported Adebayor for punching Frank Lampard during the fracas.

Wenger was furious and after the Blackburn game he had this to say: 'I don't agree at all with the match report, with what the linesman said.

'It's a complete lie what is said in the match report and we cannot accept that.

'The linesman said that Adebayor punched Lampard. I would like to ask Lampard if he was punched by Adebayor.

'I feel the whole decision from the FA is wrong. There's a lot of things in there that are not true.'

The FA have reacted in their usual fashion and called Wenger to task.

An FA spokesperson said: 'Questioning the integrity of a match official and accusing them of lying is a very serious claim to make as it questions the whole integrity of the game.

'We also reject any accusations of bias or dishonesty within our disciplinary system. We will be asking Arsene Wenger to explain these comments.'

'The FA can clarify that contrary to Wenger's allegations, the assistant referee's report does not claim that Adebayor punched Frank Lampard.

'The report states that Adebayor's attitude was aggressive, that he shoved into Ricardo Carvalho and that he aimed a punch at Lampard. It does not state that Adebayor struck Lampard.'

Aimed a punch, did punch, it`s still implying the same thing and the FA still have more to answer for than anyone involved in the brawl!

I think he should stand by his word, especially now that Lampard has admitted that no one hit makes you wonder what game the officials are actually watching if they magically see Ade punching someone?

so shoving someone and 'aiming' a punch deserves a red but drogba holding cesc by this throat doesnt? what is wrong with these referees?

I suppose full marks to fat Frank for saying he was not punched. Again, the officials were ***** poor last night. Jeff Shreeves said on Sky, that Poll, when asked about Freddie's pena;lty, said he did not see it as he was concentrating on the upper bodies. Prick! The game is FOOTball and the feet are situated on the lower body. How pathetic. Tugay and Dunn should have been sent off for a succession of fouls. It's a small wonder Gooners are suffering from paranoia! Why did Senderos go to right back when Gallas would have been the obvious choice (even to me)? Strange.

What's the betting the F.A will do a Nixon and conveniently blank out part of the report? I bet Barwick Goebels is there now with his tippex. I would imagine Wenger's explanation would read something like this, "you lied, so I called you liars."
