Injury Update: 2 Out, 1 Poorly But Still Travelled

A new season, same old problems.

Did anyone think it would be any different?

Of course, after only one game of the new season Arsenal are looking at a few injured players going into the next game.

Arsene gave the details at today`s presser.

"We left Kieran Gibbs at home. He had to come off during the game with a hamstring problem. He will be out for two or three weeks. Flamini, who was sick, is here."

"Sanogo stayed at home because he has a little hamstring problem and he was not comfortable this morning."

Whether or not Sanogo is injured or "injured" remains to be seen, but in all probability Giroud will start with Joel Campbell being the option from the bench.

So much for the wizardry of Shad Forsyth, eh. That's one for those who thought he would also serve as some kind of anti-injury talisman.

Shame about Gibbs. He's an important player for us. Monreal isn't bad back up though. Not sure that this constitutes an injury 'crisis' though.
Amos.
I have been impressed with Monreal since the NY game. Although he wasn't playing at his usual position in that and other preseason games the composure, the confidence, and even 'speed' with which he approached the task were admirable.

That's what a full pre-season does for you. He has been the better for it as he has not allowed being overlooked for the Spanish squad to the WC affect his focus and simply was first to show up for pre-season. Here's hoping he gets a longer run.
